A modern Nashville home designed around a series of simple gabled forms, deep openings, big glass, warm wood, standing-seam metal and outdoor spaces carved directly into the architecture.

Modern without trying too hard. Familiar forms, just pushed in a different direction.

Sometimes the project isn’t a house. It’s the neighborhood.

Lucile + Marie started with a bigger idea: create a new residential community that feels connected, intentional and distinctly Nashville.

Rather than simply filling the site with houses, we used architecture, scale, setbacks, porches, streets and shared spaces to create a sense of place. Twelve three-story homes define the outer edge and establish a strong street presence, while two rows of lower two-story courtyard homes create a quieter, more intimate neighborhood within.

Different housing types. Different scales. One connected community.

That’s the part of architecture I enjoy most—not just designing buildings, but thinking about what happens between them and how those decisions can turn a development into a neighborhood.

The Neo is getting a serious upgrade.

What started as an existing rooftop is being transformed into a new hospitality experience in the heart of Nashville: rooftop lounge, fire features, outdoor bar, gathering spaces, and a new glass overlook designed around the building’s existing architecture.

This is part of a larger reimagining of The Neo, including a new container pool and expanded fitness center, all focused on one goal: making the property more competitive in Nashville’s increasingly sophisticated STR and boutique hospitality market.

Good adaptive reuse doesn’t always mean starting over. Sometimes the opportunity is already there. You just have to find it.

Morning coffee overlooking the Falls? Check. ☕️

One bucket-list night, a little w**e, a lot of water, fireworks after dark… and coffee together the next morning.

The move delivered the daughter. Niagara delivered the detour.
