It was our pleasure to design and build this ensuite bath that honors the home's 19th century history while also serving the client's current needs. Reframing one doorway allowed for a spacious shower, while an interior wall was removed to incorporate the double vanity with recessed medicine cabinets. Heated floors and a ceiling mounted mini split ensured the homeowner was comfortable year round.

Last year we purchased a home during the early days of covid.  It was in poor condition but showed lots of potential.  The kitchen renovation was a full gut and everything was replaced.  Like all homeowners, we had to make hard choices about how we allocated our budget.  A decision was made to use Ikea boxes along with Semihandmade doors to give the kitchen a more custom feel without the huge price tag.  The savings allowed us to  purchasing higher end appliances and incorporate the use of quartz as a backsplash.  We decided for a more modern look around the windows by using the stone to case the jambs instead of the traditional  molding.

We are a small family-owned residential construction firm seeking to hire a full time carpenter's assistant. All jobs are within the 128 corridor (Boston, Metro West). You will be working directly with the owner/ principal on a daily basis. As a carpenter's assistant you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including: assisting the lead carpenter in erecting or demolishing structures, moving / carrying materials and helping to cleaning the job site from debris and discarded material.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ CORE COMPETENCIES:
• Minimum of 1 year verifiable experience. Candidates must own their own tools.
• A high school diploma, GED, or current enrollment in a GED online course is required.
• Possess a strong work ethic.
• Be punctual.
• Be able to represent yourself and our company in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
• Be able to read instructions and communicate in English.
• You must be drug free and open to random drug testing as part of the terms of employment.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Before & After: The challenge with this renovation was to maximize the limited space in a bathroom that was built in the 1950's. To that end, we built a pony wall in the shower and utilized glass on the upper half to allow for more natural light. Additionally a wood floating vanity was installed with white quartz, undermount sinks and wall-mounted fixtures. Large format tile was installed in the shower and on the floor, along with stainless steel trim, to give a more modern feel to the space. BEFORE & AFTER: The historical Mansard was built in 1873 and the walls were constructed of horsehair plaster. In order to preserve the integrity of the walls, we partnered with our subcontractor Larkin Painting The Larkin Painting Company to skillfully remove the wallpaper and they made plaster repairs where needed. They painted the foyer utilizing Benjamin Moore's Historical Collection. In addition, they restored the original radiator with a fresh bronze color. Finally, the heart pine flooring and wooden treads on the stairs were refinished.
