A little behind the scenes footage of how I brainstorm for the design and layout of custom cabinetry. I was trained 100% by my Dad and everything he did was laid out on paper with a pencil before any exact measurements were taken and any saw blades started spinning. So that's what I do. A rough sketch to start and the plan starts coming together. Could I use a computer, yes, but I'm old school and my method is writing ideas on scrap pieces of lumber and rolling with it. So, here's what a cabinetry project looks like in early infancy. More to come...

This was today's project and my favorite type of work...small detailed trim carpentry. Evan, can you help me modernize my old kitchen? Yes, I can. The last picture will give you an idea of what was there when I arrived.

A couple weeks ago I turned this screened in porch into funtional living space. It was framed with 2x6's and insulated with rock wool. The wall was finished with Hardie fiber cement board siding and the space was enclosed with two sliding windows and a door. Interior was finished with drywall. It was a fun and different type of project but extremely hot in the sun. Not gonna lie, I'm glad I've moved on to the next job.
