*Overloaded sockets: Using multiple adaptors or extension cables in a single socket
*Faulty or damaged equipment: If electrical equipment doesn’t work properly or is damaged, don’t take chances by using it
*Exposed wiring: Keep your distance, and take steps to address the hazard
*Contact with live parts: Avoid touching live electrical parts during maintenance or repair
*Water/moisture: Don’t use electrical equipment that has been in contact with water or moisture

Let’s be proactive when working with electricity. Being smart about safety shouldn’t be a shock to anyone!

May is National Electrical Safety Month, and the Lift Solutions Holdings, LLC safety focus hones in on this important topic. Safe work practices are the first step in preventing issues or injuries involving electricity:

*Insulated tools: Using tools specifically designed for electrical work to prevent shocks
*Personal protective equipment (PPE): Wearing appropriate safety gear such as gloves, footwear and specialized clothing when working with electricity
*Grounding: Connecting electrical equipment to the earth to prevent shock, using ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) or other methods.
*Safe distance from power lines: Maintaining safe distance from overhead or underground power lines
*Equipment inspection: Regularly inspecting electrical tools and equipment for damage or defects
*Proper use of extension cords: Using extension cords that are in good condition and suited for the load, and not overloading them
*Working in wet conditions: Avoiding using electrical equipment in wet or damp conditions – water and electricity don’t mix!

Let’s be proactive when working with electricity. Being smart about safety shouldn’t be a shock to anyone!

May is National Electrical Safety Month, and the Lift Solutions Holdings, LLC safety focus hones in on this important topic.

Lockout/Tagout is a critical procedure to prevent accidental machine startup or hazardous energy release, by ensuring electrical equipment is de-energized and locked out before maintenance or repair work. Proper LOTO compliance prevents 120 fatalities and 50,000 injuries in the U.S. annually, according to OSHA.

Employing LOTO practices protects workers from unexpected machine movements or electrical currents, eliminates exposure to arc flashes or electrocutions, and mitigates risks from “hidden” energy sources such as compressed air and spring tension. Let’s follow all LOTO procedures – being smart about safety shouldn’t be a shock to anyone!

Thursday’s open house at the new Lift Solutions Holdings Pittsburgh office was a tremendous success!

A huge thank-you to all the customers who attended. They received great hands-on training from Donnie Bordelon, Celena Moses and Ryan Wyland, and enjoyed the most unique and flavorful hot dogs EVER from Becco Hot Dogs! Yes, pineapple, cinnamon and mustard on a hot dog can work!

Entries for the YETI cooler being given away will be accepted through Wednesday. Stop in and drop off a business card - even if you missed the open house, we’d love to see you!
