180 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮
PTG Silicones would like to take a moment to give a shoutout to our team and the amazing opportunity in the 180 Skills Training Program through the 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 initiative!
This initiative was given to 100,000 participants statewide for free manufacturing skills training to boost employee experience and loyalty, targeting learning, and opportunities for growth to thrive in their careers. With over 700 skills courses to choose from, our team decided to focus on technical courses that build skills in CNC machining, Industrial Maintenance, Robotics and Automation, and OSHA Safety.
PTG’s Dylan Dean and Trish Yeary, worked diligently this past year in completing a significant amount of their courses and were rewarded with a special jacket to represent their accomplishments and company! Take a moment to congratulate them!
We were very excited for this opportunity and hope to continue to take advantage of this amazing program in the future as it provides additional training in skills courses on essential, non-technical skills needed such as; communication skills, team building skills, diversity skills, Microsoft Office skills, career building skills, personal finance skills and basic math skills.
For more information on this program check out their website below!
It is with much sadness that PTG Silicones announces the departure of our Operations Manager - Bert “The BIG Hungry” Siegrist. Bert has done an excellent job during the last few years helping PTG navigate raw material shortages, COVID-19 challenges, and a tight labor market; all while maintaining strong relationships with our employees, customers, and suppliers.
If you had the opportunity to interact with Bert, you would know him as a leader with an unequivocal positive outlook. The acronym T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) is no stranger to Bert; always willing to lend a helping hand and improve the lives of those around him.
Bert is leaving PTG on very good terms. He and his family have decided to move permanently to their family’s farm. We are excited that Bert can finally do what he always wanted to since arriving at PTG Silicones…. live on the farm and not just visit on
the weekends!
We will miss Bert but know our paths will cross again in the future…because he is going to invite us to visit him later this fall! We wish Bert much joy and happiness in his future endeavors.

PTG’s Quality & Regulatory Team Helps Clean Up The Ohio River
PTG’s Quality & Regulatory Team had the opportunity to join the local American Society of Quality (ASQ) Louisville Section to participate in a recent Ohio River Mini Sweep Event. These Mini sweep Events were implemented in 2021 to bring smaller groups together to collect litter and debris from local waterways. Starting at the Falls of the Ohio River State Park in Clarksville, IN, PTG’s Joey Robinson, volunteered with others from the local ASQ section to help cleaning up our community on Saturday, August 13th.
Think Globally and Act Locally….Removing litter and debris from creeks, streams, rivers and surrounding areas makes for a safer, healthier place for wildlife and people. A clean, healthy river basin
also helps reduce human health risks and improves quality of life. Small gestures can make big impacts. We are PTG Proud - way to go Joey!

Keeping It Local
Dating back to the late 1800s, Warsaw, Indiana has gained the reputation for being the “Orthopedic Capital of the World”. You will find an incredible rich history here full of manufacturers and suppliers alike that support our medical industries and beyond. Our team, Emily Logsdon and Joey Robinson, got to head up north recently to learn more about the history of orthopedics in Warsaw and what kind of silicone rubber molded component solutions we can bring to the current problems faced today by designing better, more sustainable products.
It was incredible to see manufacturers working collaboratively with other local companies, like Warsaw Cut Glass Company; one of the last U.S. companies crafting the art of cut glass with techniques and machinery from the past century in their original building from 1911. It is easy to understand why Warsaw is a thriving community today with this support in local growth. We are thankful to have the opportunity to live and learn this rich history and to share with you the community that surrounds us that create and craft our everyday products.

Developing the Next Generation of Engineers – Meet PTG Mfg. Engineer Intern Spencer Windham
We are excited to highlight another one of our summer interns, Spencer Windham, who recently joined our team! We are always willing to help develop the next generation of engineers and scientists that will bring new and innovative technologies to life and
Spencer has been no exception!
Spencer just finished his freshman year in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University (GPA 3.85/4.0). He has been working across multiple departments lending a hand where it is needed most. With our Operations Team, Spencer has been installing and removing molds, learning about Arburg’s SELOGICA machine controller, changing material, setting up automation and doing some LSR/LIM process optimization studies. He has also been helping our Maintenance Team clean, inspect and bench test molds to ensure they are ready to return to production. Whatever we throw his way, Spencer tackles with a positive Can-Do Attitude.
Spencer is hardworking and we have enjoyed having him as part of our team this summer. We wish him the very best when he returns to Auburn University in late August. Let’s Go TIGERS!

Developing the Next Generation of Engineers – Meet PTG Summer Intern Noah Johnson
Here at PTG Silicones, we are always willing to help develop the next generation of engineers and scientists that will bring new and innovative technologies to life. We are excited to highlight one of our summer interns, Noah Johnson, who recently joined our team!
Noah graduated from New Albany High School and will attend Purdue University this fall to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He loves the world of physics and the challenges it brings and is very excited to explore all the different types of engineering opportunities available to him. Noah is eager to learn and has enjoyed getting some hands-on experience with PTG’s Engineering & Application Development Team learning Solidworks, making MakerBot 3D printed parts and developing prototype molds. He is also getting his hands dirty helping our Operations Team installing molds, changing material, setting up automation and doing some LSR/LIM process validation studies.
We are thrilled to have Noah on our team this summer - help us wish him well in his future endeavors as a Boilermakers and his engineering career!

Round Table Discussion on Sustainability
As consumers today continue to push for more products that are sustainable from a design, material specification and use-ability standpoint; the silicone industry is working hard in all areas
of the supply chain. Raw material suppliers, molders/converters and OEMs embrace the challenges associated with these materials and recognize the need to act in a more responsible and sustainable way.
PTG is dedicated to these sustainable practices from part design light-weighting solutions and early stage design for manufacturability reviews that will increase the valve we provide our customers, make us more efficient and eliminate in-process scrap, and protect our environment.
PTG had a great time joining the Sustainability Round Table conversation with ACE Laboratories and our leading silicone suppliers about the importance of sustainability in the workplace at the Silicone Expo conference. It was great to hear how companies are evolving to become more sustainable and how we can hold ourselves accountable in today’s growing
market.
