Good morning good citizens! As we begin this week I wanted to pass on the latest weather data from WTVY and the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida. From their models it’s going to be at or below freezing for the lows all this week and into next weekend, so we want everyone to remember the 4 P’s: protect people, pets, plants, & pipes. If you are reading this on Sunday morning, you’ve still got several hours left today to take care of last minute purchases of pipe wraps & faucet covers before it hits. We don’t want anybody to be without water, especially when the break happens on your side of the meter. If the dept. has interruptions our crew will be dilligently working to restore the services. Stay warm out there also. Have a great rest of your day

Residents of New Brockton and the surrounding areas, there will be a hard freeze tonight after midnight through tomorrow morning until about 8 am. Please take precautions to prevent busted water lines in and around your house and property. As always, the NBWD is proud to serve our customers!

To all residents in the Ino Community living near County Road 460, a cable company contractor has accidentally cut into our water line, causing an interruption in services. Our repair crew is currently onsite working on the repairs, but water service will be unavailable for approximately the next 2 hours. Please be patient with our dept. and the employees if you happen to see them working. We appreciate your cooperation!!

Also, we are currently trying to get moved into our new location in the town of New Brockton, at the old Propane Gas & Appliance location. We are hoping and working diligently to be moved over before the end of the Labor Day holiday. The new address is 406 West McKinnon Street(old 84 west).

Please remember to prepare your pipes for next weeks cold weather!

01/04/2025

With the majority of next week’s low temps being below freezing in the lower 20’s, make plans to protect outside and/or uncovered water pipes. There were plenty of faucet covers and pipe insulation to be found in the Enterprise Walmart and Lowe’s stores today. Stock up now. Don’t wait until Monday afternoon to begin looking.

Just a suggestion, but with nightly freezing temps ahead, please remember to keep any outdoor faucets dripping to prevent them from freezing and bursting. Inside faucets in older houses should also be allowed to drip.

Stay warm out there!

🌟 122 Years Old Today! 🌟
On this day July 10th, we celebrate the founding of Brockton Baptist Church by Mr. & Mrs. Harper, Mr. & Mrs. Brunson, Mr. & Mrs. Taylor, Rev. Moore, Rev. Hunter, and many other faithful men and women. Their mission was to evangelize and share the Gospel with Brockton and the surrounding communities.
As the town evolved into New Brockton, so did our church, becoming the First Baptist Church of New Brockton. We have been a pillar and beacon of God's Kingdom in New Brockton, Coffee County, Alabama, and beyond.
Our deaconry has played an integral role since the church's inception, from our first Deacon Bro. E.G. Brunson, to S.D. Fuller, Lee Brown, Claude Sawyer, Stanley Walker, Jon Blissittee, Doug Nolin, and many more.
The Women's Missionary Union (W.M.U.), originally the Ladies Aid Group, has been a beacon of hope since 1905.
FBC New Brockton has influenced History many times; by Inspiring other churches in the Coffee County and Great State of Alabama by forming the first Men's Brotherhood, to leading revivals in the 1950s, and ordaining pastors and missionaries. But most importantly, our 122 years of ministry have focused on sharing the Gospel:
"Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:1-4). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)."
Our mission remains to grow the Kingdom of God by going into the whole world and sharing the Gospel (Mark 16:15).
Join us in celebrating our rich history and bright future! 🎉

For everyone concerned with how high the water rates will be increasing their bills, please take a look at the old rates that have been in place since 2015, compared with the new 2024 rates. After not raising rates at all for 9 years, there’s also a possibility that they may have to be raised again. Please take your recent bill and do the math. You’ll see it’s not really that much of a change.
