Here’s an old picture of the witches hat downtown tank. Sorry for the blurriness.
🌟 122 Years Old Today! 🌟
On this day July 10th, we celebrate the founding of Brockton Baptist Church by Mr. & Mrs. Harper, Mr. & Mrs. Brunson, Mr. & Mrs. Taylor, Rev. Moore, Rev. Hunter, and many other faithful men and women. Their mission was to evangelize and share the Gospel with Brockton and the surrounding communities.
As the town evolved into New Brockton, so did our church, becoming the First Baptist Church of New Brockton. We have been a pillar and beacon of God's Kingdom in New Brockton, Coffee County, Alabama, and beyond.
Our deaconry has played an integral role since the church's inception, from our first Deacon Bro. E.G. Brunson, to S.D. Fuller, Lee Brown, Claude Sawyer, Stanley Walker, Jon Blissittee, Doug Nolin, and many more.
The Women's Missionary Union (W.M.U.), originally the Ladies Aid Group, has been a beacon of hope since 1905.
FBC New Brockton has influenced History many times; by Inspiring other churches in the Coffee County and Great State of Alabama by forming the first Men's Brotherhood, to leading revivals in the 1950s, and ordaining pastors and missionaries. But most importantly, our 122 years of ministry have focused on sharing the Gospel:
"Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:1-4). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)."
Our mission remains to grow the Kingdom of God by going into the whole world and sharing the Gospel (Mark 16:15).
Join us in celebrating our rich history and bright future! 🎉
