Our team had an incredible experience at the KEEA–EEA Policy in Action 2026 Conference, connecting with more than 200 professionals from across the energy-efficiency industry. It was a great opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, build new connections, and gain insight into emerging trends, industry changes, and evolving best practices.

Aging infrastructure doesn’t always require starting over. With the right engineering approach, it can become an opportunity for significant energy and performance improvements.

At Rumson High School, Tri-State Energy led a comprehensive energy retrofit designed to modernize critical building systems, reduce energy consumption, and support long-term decarbonization goals.

The project included:
• Replacement of 115 aging water-source heat pumps
• Installation of 11 energy recovery ventilators
• Upgrades to 483 LED lighting fixtures
• Smart building controls
• Building envelope improvements
• Optimization of the existing geothermal system

Through JCP&L’s Engineered Solutions Program, the project secured $979,414 in incentives and is projected to deliver 722,500 kWh in annual electric savings.

It’s a great example of how integrated engineering, energy efficiency, and available incentive programs can work together to modernize existing facilities.
