PM Controls is not a staffing firm, and we don’t view staffing firms as our competition.

Our business model is different.

We are a controls engineering company that works with independent contract engineers, and one of our goals is simple: help talented engineers earn a rate that reflects the value, experience, and expertise they bring to a project.

We understand that staffing companies have their own business models and their own methods of protecting candidate relationships. Some choose to submit large numbers of contractors to opportunities in order to establish representation. That is their business decision, and we respect their right to operate that way.

Our approach is different.

We would rather focus on the engineer.

If PM Controls helps a contract engineer understand that their experience is worth $100, $110, or $125 an hour — and a staffing firm is willing to pay them that rate — we consider that a win.

They don’t have to work through PM Controls for us to have made an impact.

We’re not trying to own a contractor’s resume.
We’re not trying to prevent someone else from representing them.
And we’re not trying to compete with every staffing company in the industry.

We simply want experienced controls engineers to understand their market value and have the opportunity to be compensated accordingly.

There is plenty of room in this industry for staffing companies, engineering firms, integrators, and independent contractors to work together.

We're looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team on an exciting final assembly cell build supporting a major customer in Holland, Michigan.

💰 Compensation

$100–$125/hour (based on experience and demonstrated capability)

What You'll Be Working With

✅ Allen-Bradley PLC & HMI Programming
✅ FANUC Robots
✅ Servo Gantry Systems
✅ Pneumatics
✅ Dispense Equipment
✅ Keyence Vision Systems
✅ IR Heater Control
✅ Pallet & Tray Conveyors

Your responsibilities will include:

• Offline PLC programming
• Machine debug
• System integration
• FAT support
• Installation & commissioning at the customer facility

Schedule

🕖 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• 45–50 hours/week initially
• Approximately 60 hours/week during installation

Required Experience

✔ Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI
✔ FANUC Robot Programming
✔ 3–5+ years of Controls Engineering experience
✔ Comfortable troubleshooting independently while working with a project lead
✔ Hands-on machine build and startup experience
