Finished Project Friday! ๐Ÿšง
Our crew recently completed the full replacement of the 82-foot, 2-span bridge on SR 1053 in Lancaster County.
One of the unique details of this project was preserving the original stone bridge builder's plaque as well as the bridgeโ€™s 3-panel architectural inlay and incorporating them into the new bridge. A creative way to preserve and pay homage to the historical character of the previous structure!
Great work by everyone who put in the time and effort to get this project across the finish line!
Another SVCC bridge in the books. ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

A month later, and we're still talking about what a great day it was! ๐ŸŽข๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”
Last month, our SVCC team and their families got together for our annual company picnic at Knoebels, and it was a day well spent. From great food and plenty of laughs to roller coasters and games, there was something for everyone.
Building bridges takes a lot of hard work, and we know our crew couldn't do it without the support waiting for them at home. Our annual picnic is one small way to thank both.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, we are already looking forward to next year!

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธHappy 4th of July from all of us at Susquehanna Valley Construction! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Today, Old Glory is flying high from our cranes and around our office as a small reminder of the freedoms we enjoy and the men and women who have served to protect them.

We're proud to build the bridges that keep America moving, and even prouder to live and work in the communities we serve.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday with family and friends. Whether you are firing up the grill, watching fireworks, or just enjoying a well-earned day off, have a fantastic Fourth of July!๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Demo Day... or in our case, Demo Night. ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿšง
Some people count sheep at night, but our crew was counting bridge beams!
Last Wednesday, our team completed the Stage 2 removal of the remaining half of the northbound Interstate 81 bridge over Big Wapwallopen Creek in Dorrance, PA. Working safely and efficiently under the lights, they removed 8 existing concrete box beams in about six hours, with each beam tipping the scales at roughly 30 tons.
We're incredibly proud of the skill, teamwork, and dedication these crew members bring to every job. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿšง Hanging out at Roaring Brook! ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ”จ
Our crew is hard at work tying rebar for one of the bridgeโ€™s wing walls on the new Roaring Brook Creek bridge, part of our Elmhurst Township project. Wing walls play an important role in supporting the bridge approaches and retaining the surrounding earth, making precise rebar placement essential to the structure's long-term performance.
When complete, this project will require more than 510,000 lbs. of reinforcing steel.
We are proud of the craftsmanship and dedication our employees bring to every phase of construction as we continue making progress on this project.

The finish line is getting closer on our Elm Street project in Scranton! ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒ‰
Earlier this week, we opened the new bridge to pedestrian traffic, which meant it was finally time to remove the 160-foot temporary bridge.
Using two cranes working in tandem, the crew safely lifted the 100,000 lb structure from its foundations, maneuvered it below the overhead wires, and set it alongside the new bridge for final disassembly.
Great work by the entire crew making another major milestone happen safely and efficiently as we continue wrapping up this project.

Our SR 435 project is cruising right along ๐Ÿšง
In just a few short weeks, the crew successfully demolished the existing 6-span monolithic concrete and steel through girder bridge! ๐Ÿ—๏ธ
While it marks the end of an era for a beautiful old structure, we are excited to be a part of the next chapter here in Elmhurst.
Excavation is already underway, and we are ready to start coming out of the ground with the new construction.
Great work by the crews tasked with safely removing the old structure and getting the site cleaned up and ready for the next phase! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ŸŒ‰

It was a major team effort to pour 120 cubic yards of concrete bridge deck at our Cumberland County York Road project last week. ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšง
Deck pour days are some of the busiest on any job, and this one was no different. We had some extra hands from our other crews pitching in, plus one of our in-house mechanics was onsite to make sure the Bidwell ran smoothlyโ€ฆpun intended. ๐Ÿ˜„
And the finish line is in sight, within just a few short weeks, York Road will be ready to open back up to traffic!
