Larry Keenan, AIA, PE, shares insights on facility condition assessments with Facility Maintenance Decisions editor, Dan Hounsell, in a new article out this month.

His advice? "Some inspection or some assessment is better than no assessment." Having a professional involved on a routine basis is important, but so too are more frequent observational reports from facility staff.

Habitat for Humanity build day!

Our New York and Connecticut teams got together on Thursday, June 4th to spend the day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven!

It was 80 degrees with sun reflecting off the insulation, but we had a great time helping Habitat homebuyers Jeyser and Yvette and their family get one day closer to move-in! A big thank-you to Nick Moroniti, Rob Fraguada, Bob Delagrange, Erin Kesegi, Alison Hoffmann, Diana Alcazar, Dawson Chak, Kelvin Lee, and Senada Dushaj for braving the heat to help a family realize their dream of owning a home. Lydia and Mike at Habitat were amazing team leaders and helped us make the most of the day.

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share details of our Student Loan Repayment Benefit with Leopoldo Villardi at Architectural Record for his article, out this month, on student debt for architecture grads.

Hoffmann offers matching student loan reimbursement up to the maximum allowed tax-exempt employer contribution (currently $5,250 annually), per employee, with no lifetime cap. Since the program began in 2021, four employees fully paid off their student loans with Hoffmann's support, one decided to attend graduate school thanks to the financial assistance, and nine experienced employees finally were able to chip away at longstanding student loans. Forty-two percent of Hoffmann staff took advantage of the benefit in 2025.
