Congratulations to Richard William Off, AIA, Senior Architect with Hoffmann, on being selected to present at the Traditional Building Conference in Salem, Mass. on March 24th.

Richard delivered a presentation on the historic door replacement project at the New York Stock Exchange, which won a 2025 Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the The New York Landmarks Conservancy.

We are excited to announce that Fariha Salsabeel has been promoted to Senior Project Associate.

Fariha joined Hoffmann in 2024 and has proven herself an asset to the firm, contributing to all phases of facade, parapet, and roof projects across New York City, for clients such as Columbia University, Columbia Irving Medical Center, Verizon, and Fordham University. Originally from Bangladesh, she holds a B.Arch. degree from the Military Institute of Science and Technology Tuition MIST in Dhaka and an M.S. degree in architecture and urban design from New York Institute of Technology.

We are pleased to announce that Melissa Melone, AIA, has earned a promotion to Senior Staff Architect.

A talented project leader and owner of the firm, Melissa joined Hoffmann Architects + Engineers in 2021 after graduating from Syracuse University with a B.Arch. degree. In addition to leading Facade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP) and Annual Parapet Observation projects throughout the New York metropolitan area, Melissa contributes to the design community through service with the ACE Mentor Program and the Hoffmann Community Action Committee, and she supports her colleagues as a leader in the Hoffmann Emerging Professionals Group.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Hnatiw, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, on an engaging and informative keynote presentation at the International Concrete Repair Institute Baltimore Washington (ICRI) and American Concrete Institute National Capital Chapter (ACI) annual joint meeting.

Beth shared case studies in concrete rehabilitation, with tips for addressing impact damage, environmental exposure, inappropriate coatings, and more, along with strategies for long-lasting repairs.

It's always wonderful to kick off the holiday season at the AIA Connecticut Awards Gala!

John J. Hoffmann, FAIA, received a medal for 50 years of membership, and our team was recognized for creating positive company culture and expanding opportunity in the AEC community with our fifth JEDI Award.

After 20 years of service, Deborah J. Costantini, AIA, Senior Architect, retires from Hoffmann Architects + Engineers. An owner of the firm and senior specialist in roofing, Debbie has been a respected mentor and an exceptional technical leader. In her time with Hoffmann, she led more than 80 projects, bringing a detail-driven approach to each one, whether replacing a university’s copper roof, repairing a historic church steeple, or restoring a landmark plaza. Her ability to collaborate across teams and guide projects to successful outcomes has left a lasting mark on our work and our standards.

Debbie is widely recognized for her mentorship of junior staff and her commitment to sharing knowledge, both within the firm and beyond it. As a board member with the Construction Specifications Institute, she has contributed to advancing the profession, while also supporting future generations through architecture summer camps, classroom programs, career fairs, and volunteer work.

Her leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to supporting emerging professionals have shaped countless projects and people over the years. Debbie’s influence will continue to be felt long after her retirement, and we are grateful for everything she has contributed to Hoffmann and the broader AEC community. We wish her all the best in this next chapter.
