It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a great friend and a very important part of the Circle S family, Charlie Mullins.
Charlie came to work with Circle S in the early 1990s and spent roughly 23–24 years with our company. He started as an insulator and metal man in our industrial insulation trade. Through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to do whatever needed to be done, Charlie eventually moved into our warehouse at our main office on Rodeo Road. Later, after some management changes, Charlie came into the office and became our Assistant Operations Manager.
From that point forward, Charlie helped me in more ways than I could ever put into words.
Charlie didn’t just work for Circle S. He treated Circle S like it was his own company. He cared about our people, our customers, the work we did, and the reputation of this company. When something needed to be done, Charlie took ownership of it. He was someone I could depend on, and he played an integral part in helping us build Circle S into the company it is today.
But when I think about Charlie, his work isn’t what means the most to me.
Charlie was my friend.
Unfortunately, Charlie became very sick and eventually reached a point where he could no longer continue working. He had to leave Circle S and go home to concentrate on trying to get better. When we lost Charlie from our day-to-day operations, it took a lot of folks to try to fill the shoes of one man. That tells you everything you need to know about what Charlie meant to this company. He was truly missed then, and he continued to be missed for a long, long time.
Today, after his passing, I find myself thinking back over all those years and realizing again just how much Charlie Mullins meant to me personally and to Circle S.
There are people who work for a company, and then there are people who help build a company. Charlie Mullins helped build Circle S. I will forever be grateful for his hard work, his loyalty, his dedication, and most importantly, his friendship.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mullins family during this tremendous loss.
Charlie, you will be missed. You will always be remembered, and the mark you left on Circle S will never be forgotten.
