This large patio with an exposed border strip was a fun installation this summer and turned out great. These pics were just after pouring and cutting so it’s still in the process of curing out.
First, the home was shored up, excavated and a foundation was installed under this portion of the house to create livable space and prevent heaving. After that, we framed it in and wrapped it.
Then proceeded with Major landscaping adjustments including soil corrections and regrading along with boulder walls installed to redirect the flow of water on the property and protect the home. 4-6’ horizontal insulation installed around entire perimeter to help prevent frost intrusion and prevent any future movement in front of the sliding door.
Installed the windows and doors so it was closed up and ready for winter!
The finished product turned out beautiful and it’s ready for the landscaping in spring!

As a Certified installer for Nudura brand ICF, we do both ICF or masonry foundations from micro additions to full home foundations.
The ICF walls have superior thermal protection and also have studs integrated into the wall which eliminates the need for framing on these walls.
Great for simple frost footings or We can even take the poured walls up multiple levels and have the option to mount floors between the walls to prevent thermal bridging. See last photo for example.
This is the premier option for homeowners giving high energy efficiency, higher structural integrity, sound absorption, and sometimes lower insurance costs.
