Project Manager/Estimator
Overview:
A project manager is the principal company representative at the project site and oversees the entirety of a project. Project managers "set the tone". They engage in and influence our safety culture and have the authority to make decisions on behalf of the company about such items as cost, management, and schedule. He or she serves as the company's point of contact both with the client and with the general public. A project manager also takes part in ensuring that the entire team works together efficiently to complete the project safely, on time, and on budget.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for job site management and oversee the administrative and technical aspects of construction projects. This position will also include preparing estimates and proposals.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of project management/estimating experience in the construction and/or industrial sector.
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Proficient computer and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Effectively manage projects’ operations and schedules. Ensuring all projects on time and within budget while following project specifications and control requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of site analysis, permitting and approvals, budget
control, estimating, project scheduling and construction operations.
• Ability to read and understand construction/engineering plans.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with engineers, customers and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and specifications for completeness and general compliance with commonly accepted engineering/construction best practices.
• Provide accurate estimates for needed materials, manpower, equipment, resources, etc. for project as required per construction documents.
• Draft project/work schedules, submittals, QC reports, etc.
• Attend job site visits including preconstruction, project, and staff meetings.
• Ability to communicate progress, highlight issues, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Work closely with subcontractors and employees on job sites and confirm quality and timeliness of work.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Any other responsibilities a required by management.
Compensation, Benefits and Schedule Overview
• Salary rate based on experience.
• Office based position with the ability to visit customers and project sites on as needed bases.
• Typically, daytime shifts but some evening, weekends and holidays may be required.
• Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holiday Pay offered.
