Episode 2 of the Post Road Wastewater Treatment Plant Series 🏗️
Much progress has taken place over the past several weeks, with multiple crucial components of the wastewater treatment plant now actively taking shape across the site.

This project is also a true collaboration across Southern Organizations. Babineaux Plumbing, Inc. and Ideal Electric are both completing critical subcontract work on site — from rough-ins to electrical infrastructure that will support the facility once operational.

The project is also giving the next generation firsthand field experience. Two of our PM interns from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette are spending time on site learning the construction industry hands-on — gaining real-world experience that is often only taught from the office side of the industry. 🤟🏼

On a Southern Constructors jobsite, multiple Southern divisions came together to self-perform critical scopes of work for this Highway 90 Sewer Improvements Project.

Southern Precast Company supplied the precast wet wells for the lift station while Ideal Electric completed the control panel installation supporting the system operations.

With multiple in-house divisions working on the same jobsite, our teams are able to coordinate closely and keep critical work moving forward.

Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to speak with students at University of Louisiana at Lafayette as part of the Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter, sharing real-world insight into what it takes to succeed in today’s construction industry. 🤟🏼

Hunter Senette, Sydney Schexnayder, and George Leger gave an inside look at life in the industry; from estimating and technology to drafting and project execution—bridging the gap between the classroom and the jobsite.

These conversations matter. They give students a clearer path, real perspective, and a better understanding of the opportunities waiting for them in this industry.
