⚫ IS YOUR ASPHALT STARTING TO LOOK GRAY OR EVEN WHITISH?

That color change can be one of the easiest signs that it’s time to take a closer look.

Fresh, healthy asphalt has a deep, dark appearance. Over time, exposure to sunlight, oxygen, weather, traffic, and moisture begins to age the surface.

As the asphalt oxidizes, it can gradually change from:

Black → Dark Gray → Light Gray → Whitish/Chalky

🔹 Dark gray can be an early sign of surface aging.
🔹 Light gray often means oxidation and weathering have become more noticeable.
🔹 Whitish or chalky areas, especially when accompanied by exposed aggregate or cracking, can indicate more advanced surface deterioration.

Our team completed a hot asphalt patch at the New Madison Public Library, removing the failed area and replacing it with fresh hot mix asphalt to restore a solid, smooth surface.
