Frischhertz Electric Company traces its origins back to a long and narrow one-room office on a shady block on Banks Street in Mid-City. In 1951, Bernard C. Frischhertz, Sr., who was already an experienced electrician at Avondale Shipyards, decided to go into business for himself. Now over 65 years later, Frischhertz Electric prides itself on remaining a family owned and operated company. There are now seven grandchildren of Bernard C Frischhertz, Sr. actively working in the company, all born and raised in New Orleans, reinforcing the firm’s strong local ties and commitment to the community.
