A full kitchen transformation with one familiar detail. We gutted the space but kept and reused the existing hood in the final design. It’s proof that not everything has to go during a renovation. A custom built-in designed to read like a classic French armoire, but seamlessly integrated into the wall. From the next angle, you can better see how it was fully built in, complete with hidden doors on either side for a clean, uninterrupted look. The former laundry space was also reworked into a functional broom closet after the new laundry room was relocated upstairs. This award-winning renovation of a 170+ year-old Garden District residence thoughtfully balanced historic preservation with the needs of modern family living. The full interior transformation reimagined the home’s layout to create a more functional, connected flow for entertaining and everyday life, while carefully restoring original architectural details that had been compromised through past renovations. 

The three-story residence also underwent a complete mechanical overhaul, including new HVAC systems and updated plumbing and electrical infrastructure. The result is a home that feels both timeless and renewed, honoring its historic roots while offering a more cohesive and livable space for a young family.

Preserving the original appearance often requires highly customized detailing behind the scenes.
This narrow double-hung window assembly received a custom copper sill pan and fully integrated waterproofing system designed to direct water safely to the exterior without compromising the historic layout.

This Uptown beaut was a careful balance of preservation and progress. The whole-home renovation and rear second-floor addition honored the home’s 120+ year history by restoring the front porch to its original form and preserving key elements like wood floors, siding, windows, and trim, while introducing modern function and remedying mold issues from a previous renovation.

Site visit with Jason to check in on the cypress flooring installation. We’ll salvage and reuse as much of the original wood as possible, then lace in remilled cypress siding where needed to replace what can’t be saved.
