☄️ **Tonight, Earth is flying through a comet's debris.**

The **Draconid meteor shower** peaks tonight as Earth passes through tiny particles left behind by **Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner**.

Those particles hit our atmosphere at incredible speeds and burn up as streaks of light across the night sky. 🌎🌠

And the best part? **You don't need a telescope to see them.**

845 YEARS LATER… THE MYSTERY IS STILL ALIVE.

In 1181, people in Asia witnessed a strange bright object appear in the night sky—and it remained visible for months.

Today, scientists believe that mysterious event may have been caused by the merger of two white dwarfs, creating the spectacular stellar remnant known as Pa 30.

One ancient observation.
One incredible cosmic explosion.

🪐 **SATURN TAKES CENTER STAGE.**

On October 4, Earth lines up between the Sun and Saturn — putting Saturn at **opposition**. 🌎☀️🪐

That means Saturn will be visible for much of the night, and with a telescope, its famous rings become the real show. 🔭

A 120-foot asteroid is passing through Earth's cosmic neighborhood today.

Sounds scary… until you see the distance. 👀

Asteroid 2018 SP2 is expected to pass about 1.2 million miles (1.9 million km) from Earth — roughly 5× the average distance to the Moon.

So no, it's not going to hit Earth. 🌎

But when you see the actual scale of space, 1.2 million miles suddenly looks very different.

🚀 **STARSHIP FINALLY REACHED ORBIT.**

But it didn't go exactly as planned. 👀

During Flight 14, one engine shut down unexpectedly. Despite the problem, Starship continued its mission, reached Earth orbit for the first time, and deployed **26 Starlink V3 satellites**.

The mission was eventually cut short—but Starship had already achieved a major milestone. 🌎🚀

🚀 **Today, SpaceX is attempting something Starship has never done before.**

Starship is targeting its **first-ever orbital flight**—a massive test that could change the future of spaceflight.

Standing **407 feet tall**, Starship is planned to travel around Earth and deploy **26 next-generation Starlink satellites** before attempting its return.

But here's the question… 👀

🌕💥 NASA just found a crater on the Moon that wasn't there before.

The newly identified McGetchin crater is about 222 meters (728 feet) wide, and scientists estimate the impact happened sometime between April and May 2024.

NASA didn't record the asteroid hitting the Moon live. Instead, observations from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter helped scientists identify the relatively recent impact site.

The Moon keeps the evidence. 🌕🔭

☀️🌍 The Sun just launched a storm toward Earth.

A recent coronal mass ejection (CME) is heading our way, and NOAA has issued geomagnetic storm watches for August 27–29.

When charged particles from the Sun interact with Earth's magnetic field, they can create one of nature's most incredible sights — the aurora. 🌌

If the storm strengthens, parts of the U.S. could get a spectacular sky show.

🔭 NASA is about to launch a telescope that could change how we map the universe.

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is targeted to launch on August 30, 2026.

With a field of view roughly 100× larger than Hubble's, Roman will survey enormous areas of the sky while searching for clues about dark energy, dark matter, and thousands of new worlds. 🌌

Hubble showed us incredible views of the universe. What will Roman discover?

Latitude tells us how far north or south we are from the Equator.

Longitude tells us how far east or west we are from the Prime Meridian.

Put them together, and you can pinpoint a location anywhere on Earth. 📍🌎

For example, New York City is roughly 40.7° N, 74.0° W.
