Wilmer Cantos of Cantos Inc. recently attended the CMAA Metro NY/NJ Chapter event, “AI – A Critical Approach at a Critical Time.”

The discussion brought together leaders from construction, transportation, and public agencies to explore how AI is transforming project delivery, project controls, asset management, and infrastructure development.

At Cantos Inc., we believe AI, when combined with Reality Capture, Scan-to-BIM, Digital Twins, and engineering expertise, has the potential to significantly improve efficiency, decision making, and project outcomes across the built environment.

We’re excited to welcome our newest team member, Ruijie Xie, to Cantos Inc. as an Entry-Level Civil Engineer!

As a recent graduate of Columbia University with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, he brings a strong background in structural design and construction management. He is especially passionate about how emerging technologies like BIM and AI can transform the civil engineering and architecture industries.

At Cantos Inc., he looks forward to contributing to civil and infrastructure projects while continuing to strengthen his technical expertise and project management skills. Over the next five years, his goal is to continue learning new technologies and applying them to real-world engineering challenges.

Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, playing tennis, and exploring cities and architecture.

The Expo created meaningful opportunities to connect with procurement leaders, project teams, and industry peers while learning more about NYPA’s Vision2030 Renewed strategic initiatives and upcoming opportunities across New York State.

We’re excited to share that Cantos Inc. has been selected for the MTA Construction & Development CM1677-90, RFP 97 - Replacement of 36 Elevators in support of AECOM.

Our team will be delivering high-accuracy Mobile LiDAR scanning across 15 stations, along with comprehensive document control services to support project ex*****on from design through construction.

This work will help streamline coordination, improve QA/QC, and provide enhanced digital access through 360° walkthroughs and cloud-based data, reducing site visits and increasing efficiency across teams.

Proud of our team and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to critical transit infrastructure improvements in New York.

As a proud ACEC member, it was a fantastic evening celebrating innovation and excellence across our industry.

Thank you to ACEC NY for hosting such a memorable event.

It was also a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and industry peers; a special thank you to Eric Macfarlane, a genuine friend and trusted advisor.

We would also like to congratulate AECOM and MTA on receiving the prestigious Diamond Award for the LIRR Hall Interlocking Project. We are honored to have contributed as a subcontractor to such an impactful project.

Last week Wilmer Cantos was proud to attend Blueprints for Success: A Construction Community Outreach event hosted by Gilbane | Turner Life Sciences Public Health Lab in Albany, NY.

It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and meet with prime contractors to learn more about the Life Sciences Public Health Laboratory project.
