Since 1992, NYBC's National Cord Blood Program (NCBP) has worked to find and provide appropriate hematopoietic transplants for patients who have no matched bone marrow donors. NCBP is the first and largest public cord blood bank in the world -- banking more than 70,000 cord blood units.
To date, there have been over 30,000 cord blood transplants throughout the world, and NCBP has provided cord blood units for nearly 20 percent of those transplants.
