The US tested this in 1962: Starfish Prime detonated 250 miles above the Pacific, nearly 100 times more powerful than Hiroshima, turning the sky over Hawaii blood red 900 miles away. The real danger wasn’t the blast. It was the electromagnetic pulse, which knocked out streetlights and damaged satellites instantly, from hundreds of miles away.

Voyager 1 has been flying for almost 50 years and still hasn’t gone one light-day. The Milky Way is 100,000 light-years across, and it’s one galaxy among hundreds of billions. 🛰️ Two probes. One golden record. 48+ years and still going.

Voyager 1 & 2 — launched in 1977, they've now left the solar system behind and are cruising through interstellar space.

Voyager 1 is 23.8+ billion km out (159+ AU), heading toward Ophiuchus.

Voyager 2 trails at 19.9+ billion km (133+ AU), aimed at Sagittarius.

Both still carry the Golden Record — humanity's message in a bottle, just in case someone out there finds it. 🌌
