If you can’t walk the space before it’s built, you’re guessing.

With Echo, our shared digital model, teams can immerse themselves in the project early and resolve key details before anything reaches the field.

That means catching things like:
→ ceiling conflicts before installation
→ electrical + AV coordination before walls go up
→ alignment between systems before trades are on-site

Instead of reacting in the field, teams are making informed decisions with full visibility and earlier in the process.

The value?
Fewer assumptions.
Fewer change orders.
And far less time spent fixing what could’ve been resolved upfront.

Where do you see the most coordination issues arise in your projects?

Even the best drawings leave room for interpretation.
And in construction? Interpretation is where inconsistency begins.

When multiple teams are working from the same set of drawings, but understanding them differently, alignment becomes harder to maintain.

The question isn’t whether drawings are detailed enough.
It’s whether the process reduces interpretation in the first place.

Because the more a project relies on interpretation,
The more it relies on assumptions.

And that’s where things start to drift.

A more coordinated approach shifts those decisions earlier, using shared models and prefabricated systems to reduce guesswork and carry design intent through to ex*****on.

Less interpretation = more consistency.

The toughest details aren’t the ones you see.
They’re the ones you have to solve.

For this financial client, we delivered a fully integrated interior solution, including:
→ glass office fronts with switch glass and applied muntins
→ sliding and hinged glass doors
→ solid walls
→ and built-in technology integrations

Every detail was coordinated upfront through Digital Component Construction and Echo, so nothing was left to be figured out in the field.

That early coordination made it possible to work through complex existing site conditions, including tying a solid wall system into a concrete column with off-site precision.

The result was a clean, aligned install that matched the design intent without rework, delays, or surprises.

What’s the most difficult condition you’ve had to work around on a project?

Where does design intent actually break down?
Not during the design phase, but in the gap between what’s drawn and what gets built.

We broke this down in our latest article:
“Where Design Intent Breaks Down (And How to Protect It)”

If you’ve ever seen a detail shift, a finish change, or a design get value-engineered in the field, this one’s for you.

WHEN a design decision is made matters just as much as WHAT'S decided.

By the time those decisions reach the field, they are no longer design decisions; they are time-sensitive trade-offs.

What if we told you that a digitally coordinated process changes that?
It grants teams the ability to see, test, and validate details early before anything is built.

That means:
→ fewer assumptions
→ fewer last-minute adjustments
→ and a much stronger connection between design and ex*****on

The takeaway?
The earlier project decisions are made, the less compromise happens later (and in the field). Because our Falkbuilt process speeds things up, it means more time for designers to spend designing 😎

What’s one decision you’ve seen pushed too late into the construction process?

04/06/2026

Great design doesn’t typically fail during conception.
👉 It breaks down during ex*****on.

Not because the vision wasn’t strong—
But because traditional construction processes aren’t built to carry that level of detail and coordination all the way through.

Design, coordination, and ex*****on happen in separate phases, creating unintentional gaps where interpretation, late decisions, and field adjustments become unavoidable.

When key decisions are left unresolved early on, they’re pushed into later phases—where time, cost, and field conditions start shaping the outcome instead of the original design.

What’s one detail you’ve seen get lost between design and construction?

The best time to solve a problem is before it reaches the field.

This image is a rendering from a 3D model, and it’s how project teams can “walk” a space before anything is installed.

Using Echo, we map interiors start-to-finish in a digital model so teams can validate the details that often get missed in 2D, like:
• clearances + reach ranges
• equipment + millwork relationships
• door swings + sightlines
• ceiling coordination (lighting, diffusers, sprinklers)
• finish transitions

It’s not just visualization; it’s coordination you can see, early enough to act on. What’s the most common thing you see discovered too late on projects?

If your office feels loud, cold, or closed off, it doesn’t have to stay like that for long.

We design and deliver office fronts, acoustic solutions, solid walls, millwork, and more that bring privacy without sacrificing light or design intent.

Our VP, Mario Arostegui, and CEO, Mark Fischer, were in St. Charles this week for the 2026 Falkbuilt Branch Summit! Connecting with teams across the country, sharing what’s working, and sharpening how we serve our partners.

And yes—couldn't let the event pass without a photo with Mogens Smed (whose industry knowledge is essentially infinite).

One takeaway we’ll bring home: innovation scales fastest when teams stay aligned 🤝
