After 38 months, the HealthChain I3 project has concluded.

Sparky* worked with KBC Rijeka on FallPredict, testing StabilityGuard with over 50 patients in a real hospital setting.

The project brought technology and healthcare teams together around practical clinical needs.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦.

Most teams treat warehouses like archives. Once the data lands, nobody touches it.

That is why pipelines rot in silence.

Before any AI workload touches the warehouse, we focus on three things:
• Contracts at the source
• Schema tests on every write
• Lineage a non-engineer can read

Because if you cannot tell which pipeline pays for itself, you do not have a data platform.

What pipeline in your stack would survive a hard cost review?

Our new identity is a Zagreb Design Week Award 2026 Finalist.

Our new visual identity, created by Soče+Mrša, has been selected as a finalist for the Zagreb Design Week Award 2026.

The new identity builds on the idea of a spark as a symbol of knowledge and inspiration, using bold typography, warm orange, simple iconography and the asterisk that has always been part of Sparky*.

Thanks to Soče+Mrša for bringing the new Sparky* identity to life.

The ZGDW Award finalists exhibition takes place from 15–20 September at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. See you there.

Our first Torcida Kup came to an end after three matches.

We opened the tournament with a 5:2 comeback win, followed by a 9:1 victory in the next round.

In the third round, the draw paired us with a two-time Torcida Kup winner, featuring futsal players from Olmissum Omiš, the current Croatian champions. Sparky* led for much of the match, but the result turned in the closing stages and our tournament ended there.

We finished among the final 45 teams from 180 entries.

Across the tournament, Duje Žderić and Marko Šunjić were Sparky*’s top scorers, with 4 goals each.

A good first experience at Torcida Kup, and one we’ll build on.

Thanks to everyone behind Torcida Kup. See you next year!

𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞.

Many routine tasks, such as boilerplate, basic debugging, simple refactoring, and repetitive implementation, can now be handled faster with AI.

That means junior engineers may need to get involved in more complex work earlier: understanding systems, asking the right questions, making trade-offs, and working closely with senior engineers.

The role is shifting from completing routine tasks to learning how to solve real engineering problems.

AI may change the starting point, but the need to develop strong engineers remains.

𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞.

We don't hire for AI experience alone.

We look for engineers who build software others can understand, maintain, and extend. Anyone can build a notebook that demos an idea.

Building something another engineer can clone, run, and continue working on is a different skill.

A few things we value:
A repository that works from day one.
Tests that explain the intended behaviour.
A README that documents not only how, but also why.

If a project can't be maintained after its original author moves on, it probably isn't ready for production.

What's one engineering habit you think every team should value more?

Best office commute in tech? We might have it beat.

Lastovo to Split, Croatia, in golden hour. No traffic. Just sea spray and a sunset.
