We had an amazing start to the New Year here at Hubneo VR Lab, with a visit from the Pimax team. The Lab played host to the NYC stop on Pimax's US Roadshow. Fresh off the show floor at CES2020, the Pimax team brought in a full range of their HMD's to show off to the NYC locals that didn't have a chance to make it to Las Vegas for CES. Ranging from their new entry level Artisan model, all the way up their latest entry, the Vision 8K X which offers a stunning 3840 x 2160 resolution display to each eye. Guests who stopped in for the roadshow visit got a chance to try out some amazing games with the crystal clarity these headsets offer. As a special bonus, we even got to outfit one of our full motion racing simulators with an 8K X, and our Flight simulator with the 8K Plus. It brought a whole new level of realism to some of our favorite experiences at the Lab. Even with all this amazing technology on hand, the best part of the day was getting to meet all the VR enthusiasts that made it into the Lab that day. Its great to see how big the VR community has grown, and we hope to see some of the visitors back in the Lab for more.

This week we were thrilled to be chosen by Time Out New York to be a part of their Virtual Wave issue. This edition features some of the most amazing virtual activities to be found in New York City, and it's a great place to find your next virtual world to dive into. There are so many different ways to have your mind blown, from surrealist VR art, to virtual archaeological digs. Not to mention the high tech motion simulators here at the Lab. We are very excited to once again be hosting a Meetup for the NYC Virtual Reality Gaming Group. The Meetup will take place this month, on Wednesday, October 23rd at our Virtual Reality Lab and Simulation Center in Manhattan, and run from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. During the event you will be able to try one of the following VR Simulation systems: Full Motion Racing simulator, Full Motion Flight simulator, VR Treadmill or Wireless VR with Backpacks. Every ticket to the VR Gaming Meetup will give you access to one 15-minute experience of your choice on one VR simulator. It also includes a tour around the Lab, refreshments and access to our private outdoor space. We will be happy to talk about VR, answer any questions you may have, and tell you about how we build our systems. We are happy to announce the winner of our September Leader Board Competition: Vince W., with a score of 30,561 in ‪‎VRZ using VR Treamills! Thanks to everyone for participating, many tried, and both Fardad Z. and Mike S. were hot on his heels, but in the end it was Vince's inner zombie hunter who prevailed. We can't wait to see you back at the Lab again for our next competition. Keep an eye out for our announcement with details about the next game! Also, please feel free to give us any suggestions for games that you would like to see for future competitions.

VR is cool and everything, but have you ever wanted to explore virtual worlds as more than just a floating head and pair of hands? Punching and shooting zombies and aliens is all well and good, but what about stomping on them? What about jumping over flying debris, or actually kicking a soccer ball with your feet? All of this and more will be possible with the latest tech update at Hubneo, where you can now try out the new Vive Trackers. An entire new dimension of virtual interaction is now possible with this addition to the Lab, taking the VR experience beyond the goggles and controllers.You will now be able to jump, kick, and dance your way through your favorite experiences, and if you're brave enough, walk the plank... so make sure to come try them out!

We are happy to announce the winner of our first ever Hubneo Leader Board Competition: Juan Leiva, with a score of 23,025 in Space Pirate Trainer! Thank you all for participating, we had many valiant attempts, but in the end, Juan's inner gunslinger prevailed. We can't wait to see you all at the Lab again soon for our next competition. The Hubneo VR Lab creates advanced full-motion VR racing simulators for New York City racers and gamers, and we strive to achieve the highest level of realism in VR Sim Driving. Knowing this, we realized that our simulators could be put to great use, beyond just simulating races on your favorite tracks. Several guests at the Lab expressed interest in using our simulators to recreate real-life road situations, and practice their driving before actually getting behind the wheel. That has inspired us to create a brand new offering at Hubneo: VR Driving Classes. We want to give prospective drivers the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be in the drivers seat in a comfortable, controlled environment, and allow them to practice everything they’ve read in their manual before getting behind the wheel of a real car. For example, Anastasia (picture below) was interested in learning how to change lanes safely. Another driver, John, was interested in city driving with lots of traffic and turns. We created specific scenarios for these students, and after their sessions at the Lab they felt more confident and prepared for real roads. Last week, our team over at hubneo had the lucky opportunity to be among the first to test the newest advancement in VR locomotion technology: the omni-directional VR Blades, designed and built by E**O VR. The experience was great, and everyone at the Lab who had a chance to try the blades agreed that they are a promising step towards free, natural movement in VR. On top of that it was absolutely amazing to finally freely walk, turn and shoot zombies in one of our favorite games, Arizona Sunshine. We are really appreciative of the E**O VR team for coming to showcase their newest creation for us, and it was great to go over the development process with them. Discussing the details of their wearable locomotion solution in depth, and exchanging our experience working in VR hardware development was a blast, and we're looking forward to working with E**O VR on the testing and demoing stages as they refine the Blades.

Hubneo is a place for players of all levels to come try their hand at VR, but every so often we get some really talented gamers who make their way to the Lab. With this in mind, we thought it would be fun to set up a series of leader board competitions, so that you can see how well your scores stack up against other Hubneo patrons.
Starting today, each leader board competition will run for two weeks, during which time anyone who comes to Hubneo can choose to play the selected game, and see if they can set the high score. At the end of each competition, whoever manages to set the highest score will receive a $25 credit towards their next experience.
We're going to kick off the first competition with a classic Hubneo favorite, Space Pirate Trainer.
Make an online appointment with the Lab anytime between 07/16 and 07/30 and book the Wireless VR Backpacks for your chance to play! Winners will be announced Wednesday, July 31st.

We are very excited to announce that on Wednesday, July 17th the team at E**O VR will be coming to demo our Full Motion simulators and to showcase their new Omnidirectional VR locomotion solution at the Lab. We are always looking for the next great innovation in VR simulation technology to augment our state-of-the-art experiences.
