* NYC HVAC Contractor Referral Wanted *

I'm looking for a good, experienced HVAC contractor for a small project in Brooklyn.

The project consists of installation of an owner-supplied 9,000 BTU Mitsubishi concealed ducted mini-split and a Panasonic ERV in a private music studio.

The system design, equipment selection, mechanical layout and acoustic air-distribution design are already complete. General construction and electrical work are being handled separately.

I need an HVAC contractor who is comfortable with a small custom installation, can fabricate the required sheet-metal AHU plenum/transition, install the equipment, refrigerant lines, condensate and controls, coordinate the mechanical rough-in requirements, and properly start up and commission the systems.

This is a real project ready to move forward—not a request for preliminary design or budgeting.

If you have personally worked with an HVAC contractor in NYC whom you would recommend, please message me or leave their contact information below.

Thanks,
Steve

I have been on a semi self-imposed moratorium of xSocial Mediax for many months. There is so much good mental health in that, except... In this world today, we can also lose touch with those not in "spatial proximity" close to us, but have always been close in many, many, other ways and mean so much to our lives.

I would be remiss if I fail to recognize the extreme talent of and massive influence that the legendary studio designer, Frank Paul Comentale has had on my life.

Coming from a builders background, I was raised in a cabinet shop. Other than my Father, Frank showed me more about how to use my natural skills, and how to combine them with my love of music, to craft and create environments where creativity bloomed. He was the most supportive boss this "always trying to fail" individual ever had. The gifts and skills he shared with me are directly responsible for me being able to support myself by doing what I love for nearly 40 years. That is just one part of his legacy as he helped and supported so many others.

I am so sad that I discovered he was gone when I went to wish him a happy birthday and reach out to reconnect after my return to the states after these many years. I wanted to thank him in person for doing good amongst so much bad in this world.

I am sending my condolences out to his family, loved ones and friends. I am thinking of you today and I am so sorry for your loss.

Remembering Ed Germano on his birthday. As Mix Magazine put it, he was "A colorful figure who prided himself on his relationships with his artist clients, Germano was one of the pioneers of the modern studio industry — a trend-setter who built the most lavish and uncompromising rooms in the world." I will agree 100%. He shared with me knowledge about clocks, client lounges, and room numbers that most studio builders and owners, never ever think about. It's the little things that made him special (and very successful).

It has been almost a year since I posted last. It was hell trying to recover my account. So... I'm back for a while now (I hope). I've been working in all directions trying to get myself back to a level and it hasn't been easy. Giving up a full crew that I worked on (and with) for over 12 years was hard to do. Building one back has been even harder. I am making progress. I'm currently working with Chris Harmaty on a project in Brooklyn. Let's see if we'll get to finish it. You never know. I'm keeping positive. I should be posting on a regular basis going forward.
All the best

Organizing my 100's of photos from all the New York Music Month activities. It was well organized and I learned a great deal about the current state of "This Business of Music". I'll post some of my photos from events going forward.

P.S. Where else do you get to see and hear the interview skills of Ari Melber for considerably less than the $1000.00 MSNBC is asking for the Live'25 event ;-)

Our very first client in Jamaica, Clevie Browne (part of the famous Steely & Clevie duo that changed the culture of Jamaican music forever) has been recognized by the Government of Jamaica with the Order of Distinction, to be presented on National Heroes Day, in October 2025. Clevie is shown tracking in Producer Jeremy Harding's 2Hard Records studio that we built in 2008, 16 years after Studio 2000. It's been a remarkable ride over all these years. We are so grateful to have worked with such incredible talent. (shared via our instagram)
