UNITED METRO Energy's Brooklyn location, located next to the Newtown Creek, is home to a multi-million gallon terminal and storage facility, as well as the main office. Here, UMEC is able to receive product via pipeline and barges. UNITED METRO Energy's mechanic shop is also located onsite to ensure our fleet is as reliable as our products and services. At its Long Island location in Calverton's Enterprise Park, UNITED METRO Energy operates a biodiesel and petroleum storage facility. Here, UNITED METRO Energy stores Ultra-Low Sulfer Diesel, #2 Heating Oil, and biodiesel. Located at the former fuel testing facility in the Grumman Naval Weapons Station, UNITED METRO Energy also utilizes the historic facility to house additional fleet vehicles, complete with its own onsite mechanic. The addition of the EPCAL location allows United Metro Energy to transport its fuel from the Brooklyn terminal to Long Island via rail spur to guarantee supply for the East End. United Riverhead Terminal Inc., an affiliate of United Metro Energy Corp., owns one of the largest petroleum terminals in the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Located 80 miles east of New York Harbor on a 286 acre site in Suffolk County, the Riverhead terminal features 20 storage tanks totaling 5 million barrels of capacity, a truck transfer rack, and an offshore barge/ship platform. The offshore platform is located in the deepest channel on the East Coast and is the only deep water loading/unloading platform on the Eastern Seaboard. With an operating draft of 64 feet, the terminal's offshore platform routinely receives Suezmax vessels and is capable of handling tankers carrying over one million barrels of crude, gasoline, diesel, and heavy fuel, giving UNITED METRO Energy access to vast supply and storage resources. UNITED METRO Energy's affiliate, United Biofuels, is building one of the largest, state-of-the-art and advanced biodiesel production and blending facilities in North America. With a capacity up to 110 million gallons per year, United Biofuels and UNITED METRO Energy can ensure a steady in-state supply of biodiesel for buildings and truck fleets throughout the New York Metro area and Long Island for years to come. Upon the plant's completion, United Biofuels will be capable of producing biodiesel from the widest range of sustainable, high-energy-balance feedstocks that include domestically grown soy, canola, recycled cooking oil, used vegetable oil, and algae. Much of this feedstock will be barged into the United Biofuels facility. We look forward to offering clean, renewable, "Made in New York" fuel blends for both heating and transportation.
