True, you deserve another post from us.
Our clientele has kept us busy. Thank you. However, some information about our industry is always welcome and necessary according to many of our clients.
This is one of them: lately we have been doing a lot of painting work and to our understanding but not surprising most people don’t know that there are several levels of paint qualities. Level 2, level 3 and level 4 and each one of them has a different cost, timing and preparation. Keep in mind that I purposely excluded level 1: building’s super level for obvious reasons as well as level 5.
Well, on level 2 we cure extra large damage and defects, tape trimming side and floors, on level three we cure large and mediums damages and defects, cover trimming, hardwares and floors and we prime and coat paint. On level four there is a huge difference: we cure all defects on walls, ceilings and trims, we sand any visible roughness, we meticulously cover all hardwares, edges and built ins. We prime and first coat after which we revise and sand again to eliminate any possible blemish, we double check protected hardwares and confirm trims are in optimal condition then we double coat the surfaces.
Level 5 has been left out of this post because very few people request it, it is very expensive and time cosuming; however, a brief could serve us well. In this level preparation is highly meticulous and every surface must be close to perfection most like a high end piece of furniture or glass furniture. A work of art.
Those are the reasons why a paint job can differ on hundreds and even thousands of dollars apart.
Hopefully this article would help anyone with a paint job ahead and if you are a do it yourselfer and are in need of some instructions, don’t hesitate to shoot me a question or two and I gladly will get back to you.
Thanks and have a great day.
Sincerely,
Denny Reever
Executive Director.
