A downed power line is never “just a wire.”⚠️

Our team was in Syracuse this week for a live line demo, showing just how dangerous downed power lines can be and why you should always keep a safe distance and call us or 911.

What does it take to repower the combat information center of a warship that’s been dark since the 1970s?

Hundreds of volunteer hours. Skilled hands. Careful planning. And a whole lot of pride.

What began as volunteers lending a hand grew into something much bigger. Thanks to the dedication of our crews, working alongside the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park, spaces aboard the USS Little Rock are illuminated once again, opening new areas for visitors to explore, learn, and remember.

Hats off to the teams who made this possible. 👏

What a fun and memorable day at the YMCA of Long Island’s Touch A Truck event!

Our gas operations team from Long Island stopped by so preschoolers could get a close-up look at our trucks, climb into the driver’s seat, and meet the people who help keep their communities running every day. 🥰

One of the biggest highlights? Watching the kids play with hula hoops made from gas pipes by our team - proof that learning can be hands-on and fun.

Thank you to the YMCA of Huntington for hosting such a wonderful community event!

Gas vs. Electric. ⚡🔥
A 3–2 final. But the biggest win? Nearly $10K raised for two charities doing critical work: NAMI and Skate for the 22 🙌

🧠 NAMI supports people and families affected by mental illness through education, advocacy, and free community programs.
🏒 Skate for the 22 is a veteran‑led nonprofit using hockey to support U.S. veterans and raise awareness around veteran su***de, because even one loss is too many.

Huge shoutout to our players and employee resource groups VERG and SW@G for making it happen. That’s what it’s all about.

We love to see our colleagues providing hands-on safety education in the communities we serve. Today’s live line demonstration on Nantucket provided First Responders an opportunity to learn about the dangers posed by live and downed electricity wires, during storms and emergencies. ⚡️

Thank you to Matt Aguiar and Brian Ludvigson for taking the time to educate residents.

Meet the people behind the system who are out in the field 24/7. This work takes commitment, especially during the toughest times of the year. Our teams show up every day to support the communities they live and work in.

90s? That’s cute, but we’ve been doing this for over a century💅

From early electric power in Massachusetts in 1906, to Niagara Mohawk serving New York communities starting in 1929, to Brooklyn’s gas roots going back to the 1800s, our history runs deep.

Shout out to the generations of employees who have long powered the communities we call home, building the foundation for the work we do today. 🙌

Last week we worked with the City of Quincy in MA to relocate an osprey nest to a safer home. We helped create a specially designed nesting platform to order to help protect the birds and maintain reliability.

💡 Did you know? Ospreys return to the same nest year after year, building it up a little more each season. Because these nests can become very large and heavy, relocating them carefully plays an important role in protecting future generations. 🦅
