Waterproofing is essential for protecting Brooklyn’s historic brownstones, and we recently completed a project to ensure this home stays secure against the elements. Using MasterProtect Waterproof Thorocoat, we treated the entire front facade from top to bottom, grinding and opening all existing cracks before applying concrete bonding adhesive and cement. Once prepped, we applied a full waterproof coating and sealed around all windows with caulking to prevent future water infiltration.

The side facade, covering approximately 50 feet in height, received the same thorough treatment, including crack repair, waterproof Thorocoat application, and window caulking for added durability. To finish the job, we refreshed the window sills and heads with a contrasting paint color chosen by the owner, adding both protection and aesthetic appeal. We worked on the entire back facade wall from top to bottom, beginning by grinding and opening all cracks, removing any loose cement, and using a hammer to ensure no unstable material remained. After thoroughly cleaning and clearing all dust and debris, we patched and repaired all damages and gaps with concrete glue and cement. Once repairs were complete, we applied MasterProtect Waterproof Thorocoat across the full surface of the back wall in the color selected by the owner.

We repaired the top section of the front facade, approximately 5 feet deep and 20 feet wide, by grinding and opening existing cracks, installing wire mesh inside for structural stability, applying a scratch coat with concrete glue and cement, and finishing with a stucco cement layer. Below the new stucco area, we opened and repaired additional cracks with concrete glue and cement down the full height of the wall. We then applied MasterProtect Waterproof Thorocoat across the entire front facade, top to bottom, and completed the job by caulking and sealing around all window frames to ensure a fully protected and weather-resistant exterior.
