It looked like the future… decades ago.

Nakagin Capsule Tower wasn’t just a building—it was an idea about how we could live in cities differently.

• Modular capsule units
• Plug-in, replaceable design
• Compact urban living

Designed by Kisho Kurokawa, it became a symbol of Metabolist architecture and futuristic design thinking.

Would this kind of living work today? 👇

At first, you don’t even see it. Then suddenly… it’s everywhere.

Maraya Concert Hall disappears into the desert by reflecting it—turning architecture into illusion.

• Fully mirrored façade
• Blends into the landscape
• Changes with every hour of light

It’s a powerful take on contemporary architecture and contextual design—sometimes the boldest move is to almost disappear.

Would you have noticed it at first glance? 👇

This building breaks every rule—and that’s exactly why it works.

At Hundertwasserhaus, Friedensreich Hundertwasser designed a space where architecture feels alive, not rigid.

• Uneven floors
• Trees growing from the building
• No two windows the same

It’s a bold take on sustainable architecture and human-centered design—messy, colorful, and full of personality.

Would you live here?

You walk in… and it’s quiet in a way that feels intentional.

At Casa Luis Barragán, Luis Barragán didn’t try to impress with complexity—he let light, color, and proportion do the talking.

• Sunlight that shifts all day
• Walls that feel warm, not just look it
• Spaces that slow you down

It’s a reminder that great architecture isn’t loud—it’s felt.

A few weeks ago, our team had the opportunity to attend the 2026 expo at the where we engaged with a wide range of industry professionals, explored emerging trends, and gained valuable insights into the future of design and construction. The event provided a strong platform for meaningful conversations around innovation, sustainability, and evolving practices. We appreciated the chance to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and learn from the diverse perspectives represented throughout the expo. Experiences like this reinforce our commitment to staying informed and continuously improving the way we approach our work. We look forward to applying what we have learned to better serve our clients and partners.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited our booth. It was great to reconnect with familiar faces, and equally rewarding to meet so many new people and make new connections.

Expo 2020 Thematic Districts by Hopkins Architects turns a global event into a lasting piece of urban design — weaving culture, climate, and community into the heart of Dubai’s desert. Rooted in a modern interpretation of traditional Arab cities, the project is organized into three petal‑shaped zones — Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability — radiating from the iconic Al Wasl Plaza and inviting exploration through human‑scaled, tree‑lined streets and shaded courtyards inspired by the spirit of old Dubai. 🌿🏙️

Rather than a temporary exhibition backdrop, these districts were designed with adaptability and legacy in mind⁣ — balancing the functional needs of 136 participating countries with modular systems and built‑in flexibility for future civic life. In doing so, the architecture becomes both celebratory and contextual, blending contemporary forms with climate‑responsive shading structures inspired by date palms that shape comfort, wayfinding, and identity across the site. 🌵☀️

Award‑winning, LEED Gold certified, and now evolving into a vibrant mixed‑use quarter beyond the Expo, this project shows how thoughtful architecture can transform a moment into a movement — shaping streets, spaces, and experiences that endure long after the event closes. 📐✨

Helen Edwards Engineering Research Center by Perkins&Will reimagines scientific workspace as an architectural expression of collaboration, innovation, and legacy. Located at Fermilab’s iconic campus in Batavia, this research hub bridges past and present — literally and conceptually — with a transparent connector linking the new center to the historic Wilson Hall, creating a visual and physical flow of ideas.

Here, architecture becomes part of scientific discovery: daylit labs, flexible hybrid spaces, and modular design support everything from precision engineering to experiments that push the boundaries of particle physics. The textured concrete façade and clear geometries respect Fermilab’s heritage while signaling a bold future of inquiry and connection.

Inside, spaces are crafted not just for function, but for dialogue: open work areas, adaptable labs, and visible research zones celebrate both transparency and ingenuity. With sustainability features and collaborative environments at its core, HEERC shows how thoughtful design can elevate science itself. 🌍🔬

Cielo Apartment by Sanjay Puri Architects is a masterclass in climate‑responsive residential design rising above Nagpur’s intense heat and compact urban site. On a modest footprint, this 12‑storey building turns environmental challenges into architectural opportunity — stacking single apartments per floor to maximize cross‑ventilation, daylight, and open space for every room.

What makes Cielo truly stand out is its layered façade — sculptural screened bays that alternate horizontally and vertically and double as sun‑shading devices and balconies. These curved elements not only reduce heat gain but also inject a rhythmic rhythm into the exterior, creating pockets of green and sheltered outdoor space that connect residents with nature throughout the day.

Every detail — from passive climate strategies to solar panels and water harvesting systems — reflects a deep architectural response to context, sustainability, and human comfort. More than just an apartment building, Cielo is a living example of how form and performance can coexist beautifully. 📐🌍

Step inside Lei Ơi Cà Phê and feel how architecture can slow time — nestled in the tightly knit streets of Da Nang, this 96 m² café by TRAN TRUNG Architects transforms a dense urban lot into an open, breathing spatial experience. Centered around a translucent staircase, the design dissolves boundaries between inside and outside, letting light, air, greenery, and the aroma of coffee flow freely through every corner. 🌿☕️

The structure celebrates the life cycle of materials — corrugated metal, broken tiles, and salvaged elements are repurposed to honor memory and time, while perforated clay brick walls create passive ventilation and natural cooling in Vietnam’s hot climate.

Inside, shifting daylight becomes part of the architecture itself — a poetic display of light and shadow that connects people, nature, and the architectural form. This isn’t just a place to sip coffee; it’s a space where design makes you feel alive.

Nhà Hàng Tre Vedana — where architecture meets nature in its most elegant form.
by VTN Architects and captured beautifully by NhaOplus & Design, this bamboo masterpiece stands at the heart of the Vedana Resort in Vietnam, marking the studio’s *tallest and most ambitious bamboo structure to date. Spanning over 1,000 m² with a three-gabled circular roof composed of layered bamboo rings, the design creates a dramatic yet poetic spatial experience that blurs the line between indoors and outdoors. Inspired by traditional forms but reinterpreted through modern craft, the stepped, dome-like roof rises nearly 16 meters, anchored beside an artificial lake that naturally cools the space and frames sweeping views of the surrounding forest and mountains. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of sustainable materiality, contextual design, and architectural storytelling grounded in place and climate.
