Boys day!

Easton was the leader all day at Old Sturbridge Village.

He lead the way and picked the activities.

Sitting by the lake this morning brought back memories of a song I wrote almost twenty years ago. Inspired by a quiet morning by a lake, it started as a poem that I eventually turned it into a song.

I’ve thought about the song many times over the years but always assumed it was lost, since the original was on a burned CD, LOL. This morning, I decided to look for it and found it buried deep in a folder from an old computer backup!!

Listening to the song again, I feel like it captures the timeless beauty and peace of sitting by the water in the early morning. If you catch it at just the right time, it's a little slice of perfection.

Don't mind my singing. It was and never will be good haha but I used to have so much fun making music!

Growing up, my family had two huskies, and when I was about 8 or 9 I read White Fang and Call of the Wild and came away from them in awe of the north and the mighty sled dog. Since then I have always wanted to see and experience dogs running. My love of sled dogs is also what lead Amy and I to getting our malamute Maximus.

Feeling very lucky to finally realize that childhood dream today with my Wife and son. 💖💖💖

We also all took our first helicopter rides, got some absolutely amazing views of the Mendenhall glacier and on top of all that the weather was perfect!

True to form Easton was hyped on all of it, but said the Sled Doggies were his favorite.

Wish Maximus could've seen these sights. 🐾

Broken shock bolt.
Was stuck good in the swinging arm.
The old weld-a-nut trick came up short.
Tossed it in the mill and hogged it all out to start fresh.
Threw a tim-sert at it with good results.

New swinging arm bearings, new shocks and a few other items to tackle while shes apart.

Super stoked for E!

Today he earned his first stripe!!!!

He's been doing Jiu Jitsu 2-3 days a week since we got to FL and not only has been having a ton of fun, but he's worked hard and made a real effort on his own to improve his skills each time.

Also everyone at has been so awesome to him, especially coach . Cannot thank you all enough for welcoming him, and us, into the Flowhouse family. Were bummed he only has a few more classes with you guys before we head back to MA but you'll see us again soon!
