Recent sediment trap converted to a Bio Media Infiltration Basin. Not your ordinary pond with fish.
Beneath the surface, there is 1’ of 57 stone followed by 2’ of Bio Media material then finally topped off with 3” of hardwood mulch.
These are designed to slow and treat on-site stormwater runoff. Stormwater is directed to the basin and then percolates through the system where it is treated by several physical, chemical, and biological processes.
