Four years ago today, Dilly Marchant and I flipped on the OPEN sign at 121 West Main Street for the very first time.
After days of moving inventory, cleaning, organizing, and preparing—with plenty of help from Chris, Bryce, and Josh Womack—we were finally ready to open our doors.
Even now, I walk into the store and sometimes can’t believe this little dream became a reality.
When that sign lit up for the first time, I saw the store as a creative outlet—a place to sell the things we make, showcase creations from our community, and offer products we carefully chose to stock. Today, I realize it’s so much more than that.
It’s my happy place. It’s where I get to connect with friends, neighbors, and our community every day. It’s a few hundred square feet of opportunity to make a positive impact and build meaningful relationships.
Most importantly, it’s the people. The “Sagebrush Ladies”—along with a few guys working behind the scenes—are one of the greatest gifts this business has given me. I adore this team and have the privilege of watching them share their kindness, positivity, and huge hearts with our community every single day. When I look at this photo of the group, I can hear the laughter.
To everyone who has supported our business over the past four years: thank you. Our goal has always been to be a bright spot on Main Street, and we hope that light continues to grow as more people join us in making our community even stronger.
Newcastle, thank you for four wonderful years in retail.
Sagebrush Marketing, our parent company, has been around since 2008—but that’s a story for another day.
