2026 American Public Works Association Georgia Chapter Project of the Year completed by Piedmont Paving, Inc.!

🏆 Congratulations to Fayette County! The Starr's Mill Tunnel Project has been named the 2026 American Public Works Association Georgia Chapter Project of the Year in the Transportation category ($1M–$5M). Opened in July 2025, the tunnel and path system give students and residents a safe, grade-separated crossing to reach Peeples Elementary, Rising Starr Middle, and Starr's Mill High School - away from high-volume traffic. A well-deserved honor for a project that boosts both mobility and community safety!

Motorists traveling through the Grantville-Moreland exit on Interstate 85 southbound should expect delays beginning this week as the Georgia Department of Transportation starts a ramp widening project at Exit 35.

According to GDOT, the work will add a dedicated right-turn lane at the U.S. 29/State Route 14 interchange in Coweta County.
Construction is scheduled to continue daily through late July, weather permitting.
