Nikiski friends and neighbors,
I believe we are standing in front of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our community.
For too long, we have watched economic opportunity decline. We have seen families struggle, businesses slow down, and too many of our young people look elsewhere because they do not see the future here that many of us wish they could see.
Government is not the answer to that problem. More taxes, more programs, and more government control will not create the kind of prosperity our community needs. The answer comes from people, opportunity, work, investment, and the ability for families and businesses to build something lasting.
The Alaska LNG Project represents more than industry. It represents real company jobs, industry support jobs, retail support jobs, energy security, and renewed hope for Nikiski and the Kenai Peninsula. It gives us a chance to build a community where our children and grandchildren can see a future, not just a place they feel they have to leave.
I understand that not everyone wants industry nearby. I respect that there are different views. But I also believe we have to be honest about what is in front of us. Without real economic growth, our community will continue to decline. With opportunity, we can grow stronger together.
I am asking the people of Nikiski to look closely at this moment and consider what it could mean for our future. Please reach out to Senator Jesse Bjorkman and encourage him to do what is right for our community. Ask him to help move HB 381 forward, support the Alaska LNG Project, and stand for the long-term future of Nikiski.

This is about more than one project. It is about whether we want to be a community that slowly fades, or a community that builds, works, grows, and gives the next generation a reason to stay.
Nikiski needs opportunity.
Let our community thrive.
