Hiring experienced petroleum equipment service technicians and technician trainees.
Applicants must be experienced with tech, i.e., computers, MS Office programs, tablet and smart phone apps, etc. Applicants will be expected to compose comprehensive descriptions of work performed on service reports, as well as have articulate conversations with site personnel and fellow company personnel. Applicants must have a basic knowledge of common hand tools, including their uses. Previous mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work experience is a plus. Applicants must be drug free and have a good driving record.
Duties include, but not limited to, performing retail and commercial fueling facility equipment installation and service of dispensers and pumps, submersible turbine pumps, point of sale systems, tank monitoring systems, v***r recovery, underground and aboveground tank components, as well as canopy lights and price signs.
Experienced technicians will immediately be placed on a rotating schedule for 24/7 on-call duty, which is a week at time, responding to emergency service calls after-hours and weekends. On-call duty includes monitoring the dispatch email, and watching for texts and phone calls from the answering service, with service requests. Trainees will be asked when they will be available after-hours and weekends, so they can help the on-call technicians when needed.
There are many state and manufacturers’ certifications required for petroleum equipment service technicians, and they must be acquired, and kept up to date by the technicians. The company will pay for course fees, and provide paid time to take the courses, whether online or in person, excluding study time, along with associated travel and per diem when necessary.
Technicians are responsible for managing parts inventory on their service vehicle, including the correct quantities, that are consistent with the types of service calls they typically perform. Technicians are also responsible for maintaining their company service vehicle, which includes keeping it clean inside and out, and notifying the fleet manager when service or repairs are needed.
