On Sunday we shared Andrea's story. Today, the work itself.

Before: a roof that was putting her family's home insurance at risk — patched together on weekends by a single mom who shouldn't have had to be up there.
After: a brand-new CertainTeed system. Proper underlayment, flashings, ventilation, and a roof line built last. Installed by our crew at no cost through the Nom-A-Mom program — nominated by a community that showed up for her.

The kind of project that reminds us why we do this work.

Happy Mother's Day, Andrea — and to every mom out there holding her family's roof up, sometimes literally.

This year's Nom-A-Mom recipient was nominated by the people who know her best. Andrea is a single mom raising two boys on the central coast. When her roof's condition started putting her home insurance at risk, she didn't wait — she climbed up there herself on weekends to buy time while juggling everything else.

Her community saw her. They nominated her. And our team had the honor of installing a brand-new CertainTeed roof for her family — at no cost.

Today is for Andrea. It's for every mom holding it together with grit, duct tape, and an extra cup of coffee. It's for the moms who shouldn't have to be on the roof — and for the neighbors, friends, and coworkers who made sure this one didn't have to be up there anymore.

This Atascadero ranch asked for two answers, and we gave it both. The main residence wears hand-laid clay tile — Class A fire-rated, true to the home’s Spanish bones, and built to outlast just about anything the central coast throws at it. Over the garage wing, we shifted to standing seam metal: clean, low-profile, and a quiet nod to the ranch’s working roots.
