“In the first year, we’re supposed to see energy savings of about $25,000,” Meredith Weathers, director of finance for Otsego Public Schools said. “Overall, we’re looking to save about $3.2 million in the long run.”

To invest in alternative energy is to invest in the student. The example set for them, their teachers, and their community is one that students take beyond the walls of the classroom as they go out into the wider world. Last Thursday we broke ground at Otsego Public Schools for their new solar array and introduced the SAMI Experience to their students. Partnering with Otsego and helping them elevate all the fantastic work they’re doing is a privilege and an honor. As a partner, we not only make the process of getting solar easier but also provide educational opportunities through our SAMI Platform and the different avenues afforded by alternative power. It’s an exciting time for solar energy, but even more exciting for the schools that take advantage of the opportunity it provides.
