After 20 incredible years with Jordan & Skala Engineers, Enelio Enriquez is beginning an exciting new chapter: retirement.

As Enelio reflects on his time at JSE, one theme comes through again and again: the people. Over the past two decades, clients and colleagues have become lasting connections, and those relationships are what made the work and projects especially meaningful. Enelio has always believed that successful projects are built on collaboration. “We really need to work together,” he says, and for him, strong partnerships begin with genuine personal connections. That same people-first approach has shaped the way Enelio has mentored and supported the next generation of engineers and leaders throughout his career.

One of those leaders is Emma Hoelzel, who has spent the past eight years at JSE. As Enelio retires, Emma will step into the role of Team Leader and serve as the team’s primary point of contact. Building on the strong foundation Enelio helped establish, Emma is focused on strengthening client relationships, supporting her team, identifying new efficiencies, and expanding the team’s reach into new areas.

“I want to be very hands-on and involved with the projects as much as I possibly can be,” Emma says. “That leads to a more successful team and everyone feeling supported.”

We are incredibly grateful for Enelio’s 20 years of dedication, leadership, mentorship, and the relationships he has built along the way. We wish him all the best in retirement and this well-earned next chapter. At the same time, we’re proud to welcome Emma into her new role and excited to see how she continues to build on that legacy.

⚠️ Important Reminder for Active Revit Projects

With Revit 2027 now available, it's a good time to review any projects still being worked on in earlier versions of Revit.

As Autodesk continues to phase out support for older releases, you may encounter limitations that affect project workflows:

• Versions older than the current release and the previous three versions are no longer supported by Autodesk.
• Previous Revit versions may have limitations with cloud models, collaboration, and third-party add-ins.
• Staying within Autodesk's supported versions helps ensure better security, reliability, and continued access to support when issues arise.

If your team is still managing projects in an unsupported version of Revit, now is the time to plan your upgrade and coordinate next steps to ensure continued project compatibility and minimize interruptions to workflow.

Industrial facilities are requiring more power to accommodate robotic material handling, but increasing utility capacity limitations, long equipment procurement lead times, and future proofing can quickly become project constraints. 🏭

In a recent roundtable with Consulting-Specifying Engineer, JSE Principal and Industrial Leader Darren Rogge outlines what owners, developers, and design teams should be planning for now:

• Confirm utility capacity early and identify constraints—upgrades can take months or years
• Design scalable electrical systems to accommodate future automation and process loads
• Identify transformers, generators, and electrical gear requirements for early procurement
• Evaluate microgrids, energy storage, and on-site generation where reliability is critical
• Align resiliency investments with the operational cost of downtime

As sustainability requirements continue to evolve, now is the time to evaluate your project's certification roadmap. The U.S. Green Building Council has extended the LEED v4 and LEED v4.1 (BD+C, ID+C and O+M) commercial registration close date from June 30, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

The Phillips 66 | JA Discovery Center was designed to provide students across Southeast Texas with hands-on learning experiences focused on financial literacy, career readiness, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. The 40,000-square-foot facility features interactive classrooms, offices, and multipurpose spaces that connect education to real-world application.

We provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services to help bring this vision to life.

The facility supports immersive programs such as JA BizTown, JA Finance Park, and the JA Company Program, and is expected to serve approximately 32,000 students annually. Through thoughtful engineering and collaboration, the Phillips 66 | JA Discovery Center helps create an environment that inspires students and prepares them for future success.

That’s a wrap on Season 1 of The Coordination Conversation! 🎙️

Over the past year, our goal was to bring more than 70 years of consulting-engineering expertise to the microphone, turning complex design, compliance, and AEC industry trends into engaging conversations.

Our debut season tackled some of the industry's biggest shifts, from navigating A2L refrigerants and the 2021 energy codes to breaking down federal changes impacting green building programs and incentives. We also explored the evolution of project management from AutoCAD to Revit and unpacked common confusion points around Emergency Responder Radio Coverage (ERRC) systems.

We’re already hard at work on Season 2.
