Perioperative Beta-blocker and Statin use in Patients with Undergoing

In patients that undergo Orthotopic Liver Transplantation (OLT), the presence of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is associated with worse short- and long-term outcomes. With reported 3-year mortality rates up to 50%, recent efforts have focused on ways to reduce perioperative cardiovascular risk in this population.

Sinus Cryoablation of Ventricular Tachycardia after Failed Radiofrequency Ablation

We present a case of (GCV) cryoablation in order to suppress idiopathic epicardial Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) after failed Radiofrequency (RF) ablation via the epicardium and GCV. RF ablation is the technique of choice for the treatment of Ventricular Arrhythmias (VA).

A Case of Primary

Primary cardiac sarcomas are extremely rare tumors of the heart with a very poor prognosis. The treatment of choice of these rare tumors is complete excision of the tumor but it is dependent upon the stage and the extent of infiltration at presentation. We present to you two cases of Primary Cardiac Sarcoma with features of a presumed pulmonary embolism which was ruled out by investigations but did reveal a large pericardial effusion and disturbed contours of the heart in Case 1.

Preliminary Simulation Study of Atrial Fibrillation Treatment Procedure Based on A Detailed Human Atrial Model

(AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia in clinical practice. Surgical ablation is a therapeutic procedure that creates lines of conduction block to interrupt the maintenance of AF. However, surgical AF ablation procedures are largely based on empirical considerations, and may not be optimized. In this study, based on a detailed human atrial model with fiber orientation, eight AF surgical ablation procedures, including the clinical gold standard Cox-Maze III, incomplete Maze-III, mini-Maze, and 5 modified Maze-Ⅲ procedures, were simulated and evaluated.

Over the past decades,
(PCI) with stent implantation is an important treatment for symptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD). However, (ISR), which is the most common complication of PCI, plagues cardiologists and patients. Although drug-eluting stents (DES) have been widely used in reducing the incidence of ISR, 5%~10% DES implanted patients are still in the risk of ISR which needs for further revascularization.
