One of the biggest misconceptions after a tornado is that if a home is still standing, the damage must be minor.
What many homeowners, even adjusters, don't see are the issues hidden behind the brick and drywall. In this case, the storm compromised windows and the building envelope, allowing moisture to enter the home. Water intrusion saturated insulation, damaged drywall, and created conditions that, if left untreated, could lead to much larger problems down the road.
Restoration isn't always about rebuilding a home from the ground up. Sometimes it's about identifying and repairing the damage you can't see before it becomes a bigger issue.
This home may not have been leveled by the tornado, but it still required extensive restoration work to return it to a safe, healthy, and fully restored condition.
