As we gear up for the transition from fall into winter, we want to put out our usual PSA out for our customers - both current and future - including steps that are not only a huge help for us but for other delivery and repair services. Here are some steps that can be taken that ensure our deliveries can be performed quickly and that both our drivers and service techs can stay happy, healthy, and on schedule:
***CLEAR A PATH FOR SNOW*** This is perhaps the best thing you can do (at the most important time of the year) to ensure a timely oil delivery both for yourself and your neighbors. Deep snow slows down deliveries drastically and makes it hard to locate the fill pipe, so please clear a path from the road to the fill if you are able. If you are elderly or disabled, consider asking a family member, neighbor, or local kid for assistance. If that is not possible, please reach out to us so we can plan your fuel needs for before or after a snowstorm - a last-minute emergency delivery in deep snow puts our drivers and trucks in dangerous situations, and it puts you at risk of not getting your delivery in time.
- Clear Overgrowth/Landscaping from Access Points - if large shrubs and grass are in front of fill pipes and bulkheads, it can make deliveries, repairs, and installations slow or painful for our drivers. Clearing brush helps keep us from getting tangled up in the front yard and moving onto other deliveries.
-Unlocking Gates/Doors: Getting to a home and finding out we cannot deliver because the gate to the fill is locked is a huge bummer. The same holds true for a locked bulkhead during services calls. Please confirm with the office that access to the oil fill pipe or heating system is available to avoid a day or more delay. Of course - you are welcome to remain at the house and let us in!
-Clean Up After Pets - we love Fido the Dog and Mrs. Whiskers the Cat, but we don't love their p**p. A dirty yard or home makes for a rough day for our employees who risk tracking droppings into another persons yard or home. Also, the oil hose drags on the ground and brings p**p back to the truck. Your pets can also create avoidable service issues, such as hair getting stuck in air filters or burner intakes. Please help keep our work sanitary and safe by cleaning up after your furry friends.
We appreciate the support of all our customers and the community, and with your help we can continue to work strategically so that you get the best quality and value for your dollar this heating season!
