The summer's here, and so are those sizzling temperatures. Here's a few tips to help you beat the heat:

-- Change your filter every month - even if it doesn't look dirty. Dirty filters cause poor airflow, which can result in a frozen unit.

-- Keeps weeds and other debris away from your air conditioner. Your unit must be able to breathe.

-- Don't play "thermostat roulette". Set a temperature and leave it there.

-- Use ceiling fans to circulate air - but remember to turn them off when you're not going to be in that room.

-- Turn off heat producing appliances like TVs when not in use.

-- Use drapes or window shades for windows that catch a lot of sun.

-- Jump in the pool!!!
