Children learn what they see and hear. A child’s early years are crucial in determining the direction they will take later on in life. If I can instill a love for reading through writing books that are fun and creative yet deliver a positive impact and message on a child’s mind then I know I have made a difference in that child’s life whether or not i’m in the classroom.
My Superhero Teacher
Everyone loves Superhero’s I mean who wouldn’t love a Superhero. They are brave, strong, smart, and best of all they have super powers. You’ve all heard about Superman, or Spider -Man, or maybe even Wonder Women. All these wonderful characters have used their super powers to perform heroic acts such as saving the world by making it a better and safer place for all. For instance, Superman did you know that his adoptive father gave him the name Clark and before he passed told him that he must use his powers to become a force for good and fight against crime to protect people. Superman was unique in the sense that he inspired people not to give up in the face of adversity by helping people find their inner strength. How about Spider-man who was an born a poor sick orphan until he became bitten be a radioactive spider given him amazing spider abilities like climbing walls, superhuman strength, speed and agility. He had a spider sense that warmed him of impending dangers. Just like Superman he too used his superpowers for good not for evil. He was known for always doing what was right not for himself but for the benefit of others. He was a very selfless superhero. He denied himself his own social life so that he can spend his days fighting criminals to keep the world safe. Then, there was of course wonder woman. Unlike, Superman and Spider-Man who were both born human before becoming Superheroes, Wonder Woman was a demigoddess sculpted from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta. Her superhuman powers were given to her as gifts from the Greek Gods. She was recognized for her commitment to justice, peace, and equality. Perhaps this is why I find Wonder Woman to be my favorite superhero of all time. She fought for fairness and was compassionate. Till this very day she is recognized as a symbol of empowerment for all girls and boys around the world. Do you know that people can be superheroes too. For instance, take a look at firefighters. They save lives by putting out fires and rescuing people from getting hurt and how about Police officers who take a pledge to protect lives and property. Our Community members depend on police officers to enforce the law and pursue individuals who break the law. There are so many real life superheroes but my all time favorite superhero are teachers. They work hard each day to make sure their students are learning how to read, write, solve math problems, draw creative art, play sports, and sing beautiful songs. Teachers have a duty to keep their students safe. and create a comfortable learning environment for all students. Each day teachers take much time out of their day to demonstrate to students what right from wrong choices look like. At times, teachers may have to send a letter home to your parent or make a phone call that doesn’t mean the teacher loves you any less. In fact, that shows that they care about you. They always want what’s best for you. So, if you ever think that your teacher is calling mommy, or daddy, or your grandparents to get you in trouble it’s quite the opposite. They are calling to communicate the expectations in the classroom, and the rules that a student should follow this way you will learn to make the right choices from the start. I believe that teachers are the best superheroes because not only do they teach, they were many hats. They are first and foremost a teacher but throughout the day they can be a nurse when you are sick, a referee when you and your friend are having a discussion, a therapist when you are sad and need some one to cheer you up, a detective when someone in the class loses something personal like a jacket or a book bag. Teachers are also secretaries. They make sure all your paperwork is in order like your test scores, writing samples, reading levels, and homework. No matter how exhausting teaching sounds, teachers are arguably the most important member of society. They give their students a purpose by setting them up for success as citizens of our world, inspiring students to do well and to succeed in life. So when you think about your teacher and you have a moment to talk to them don’t forget to give them a big hug and thank them for everything they do each day in and out of the classroom. The best gift you can ever give your teacher is showing them how much you appreciate them for the life lessons they have and will continue to teach you throughout your years in Elementary, Middle School and High school. I hope this book on my Superhero teacher has brought you closer to your teacher in many ways. I am grateful for all my students and I know that each and every one of you will become the very best that you can today, tomorrow and always. I believe that you too will one-day be a Superhero. Love Mrs. Olaechea
