If you live in Maryland, New York, or New Jersey, your Community Solar credits and discount will be applied directly to your utility bill. If you reside in another state, consolidated billing legislation is likely on the way.

We made it to the Solar Powered Lunch in Baltimore organized by Maryland LCV. Had the pleasure of meeting one of our subscribers, Bill Marker, who has been subscribed to the White Marsh solar farm for a few years and has saved $300 on his BGE bill through Community Solar 🌞 Also, met Michelle Smith who wanted to subscribe on the spot to support solar generation and get some savings on her bill as well.

The vision of energy independence that has driven American energy policy for the past two decades has been shattered by Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the crisis it has caused.

It’s time to go back to an earlier version that would actually shield this country from international shocks related to oil and natural gas. Back in the early days of the climate movement, environmental activists, including yours truly, thought that changing the message to “energy independence.....

Join us to celebrate Earth Day 2026 in Takoma Park!

On Sunday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the City of Takoma Park Sustainable Takoma Park and the Takoma Park–Silver Spring Co-op will host a community-wide Earth Month celebration including activities such as face painting, nature-themed arts and crafts, a clothes swap, tree care demonstrations, bike repairs and rides, music, food, and interactive learning opportunities.
