Heat is a part of everyday life in Southwest Florida, but prolonged high temperatures can still pose a risk. Stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a short time. Check on neighbors, older adults, and those who may be more vulnerable. Staying mindful of the heat helps keep the community safe all season long.
