A chopped up structure job. It was easier to load it in the parking lot with a forklift than it was with the Overhead cranes, but we got it done with an overcast day, job was delivered a few days early. Everybody is happy.

Our owner and president of HFI has been made a lifetime member of the American welding Society, AWS.
He has made a living as a welding for close to 50 years. He tells a story of how he bought his class ring in high school with welding money. In his close to 45 years at the company, he has studied at the Hobart Institute Of Welding Technology for 320 hours. He is also a certified welding inspector CWI.

We had a sendoff dinner for one of our employees who has had a higher calling. He is going to serve our country in the United States Army.
Tucker Leonard, A few years back
I had a phone call from this young man asking for an interview. He flew in from Truckee in the Lake Tahoe area. He mentioned he would be moving to Ark.
I hired the young man. He made the pilgrimage with his wife to be, Kalee Pettigrew and set up housekeeping in Conway, Arkansas. He is an excellent welder. He can lay out and interpret drawings with efficiency. He would also fit steel with accuracy. He is AWS certified in several processes.
He and Kaylee married and had a baby boy named Everett. Watching individuals grow and create families while in our employment has been the most satisfying thing to witness.
After his basic training, his first duty station will be Fairbanks, Alaska.
HFI and the HFI family wish Tucker and his family the absolute very best.

A little bit of engine lathe work building some stainless steel flanges, they will be fitted to a pipe that is removable from this weldment by using the new flanges. We also employed the Bridgeport mill and the DRO. We have put an eight bolt pattern for the flanges. Taking time to teach one of the young welders that there is more to this work than just burning rods.💪🏼💪🏼

The top hands at HFI are headed to Kansas City. They will be producing high strength welds the blueprint call for 3/4 inch fillets along with 1 inch deep bevel welds. These thoroughbreds will be stacking metal for sure. 💪🏼💪🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼💯‼️

This line connection used 72 bolts for the joint. The skilled men at HFI displayed great skill and accuracy, which is reflected in the video.

HFI preassembled a double set of girders just shy of a 100 feet. We use a transit level to ensure proper alignment, we can hold a 1/16 inch over the full length of the double beams. This procedure was performed to ensure perfect fitment and to satisfy contract document.

The last couple of months If 2025 and the first three weeks of 2026 have been amazing. The top hand at HFI have really worked hard and smart producing the highest quality fabricated steel around. They shipped 42,000 pounds on Monday and 42,000 pounds on Friday of this week.
