ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will include, but not limited to the following areas:

Assist designers and engineers during the product research and development process.
Use blueprints and engineer’s instruction to confirm components and build prototypes.
Set up and operate lab equipment, including data acquisition systems, hydraulic benches, electrical controls, and other test instruments.
Test prototypes per written specifications and verbal instruction.
Acquire and format test data. Record test processes and findings. Compile data into reports.
Repair and maintain equipment, including hydraulic test benches and electromechanical test fixtures.
Assist in building test equipment. This may include wiring and plumbing from a schematic.
Provide technical assistance to other departments as needed. Help troubleshoot production processes and equipment.
Maintain a clean, highly-organized, and safe work environment. Maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment as required.
Will be aware of and comply with all MICO, Inc. and MICO Engineering Lab safety rules. Personal safety devices (hearing, eye and foot protection, respirator, etc.) will be worn when required. Be safety-conscious in all daily activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Classwork in an Engineering Technician/Technology program is required. Experience in assembling and / or testing hydraulic components is desirable.

Complete other costing related activities upon request.

Perform change overs and operate work centers as instructed by the Production Team Leader.
Setup and operate drill presses, hones and other hand and power tools.
Look for and suggest improvements to processes and operations to the Production Team Leader.
Seek assistance from a CNC Lead Setter when production issues arise.
Monitor quality per ISO work instructions.
Perform tool offset adjustments and tool changes as needed to maintain required quality of parts.
Pack parts properly to prevent damage during transportation to next operation.
Create Documents Change Request (DCR) using kbox when needed to correct or upgrade process documentation.
Interpret blueprint and job specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Perform inspections and tests to ensure parts meet the quality dictated by associated technical documents.
Operate equipment per written instructions.
Read and operate inspection equipment to insure a quality product at all times.
Assigned work area, tools and gauges will be clean, and kept neat, safe and orderly at all times.

Will work overtime as requested by supervisor.
