Local Heating and Plumbing company looking for a licensed (AK) Journeyman plumber for full time plumbing and heating job.
**Are you looking to teach and mentor new plumbing apprentices to teach them the right way to do things? Than this job is for YOU!!** We service and install Natural gas boilers and furnaces, oil boiler and furnaces, etc.
Key Responsibilities;
Installations: Assemble, cut, and connect pipes (PVC, copper, cast iron) for water supply, gas, and waste disposal systems. Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose plumbing issues, clear drain blockages, and repair or replace broken fixtures like toilets, sinks, and water heaters. Clean and tunes, service calls for no heat no hot water, natural gas conversions, borough change outs, etc. depending on skill and company needs.
Code Compliance: Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure all piping and connections strictly adhere to state and local plumbing codes.
Mentorship: Supervise, train, and assist apprentice plumbers while they work on residential job sites.
Customer Service: Prepare cost estimates, communicate effectively with clients, and keep accurate logs of time and materials.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensure: Must possess a valid AK Journeyman Plumber license, or the ability to obtain one.
Experience: Negotiable but prefer at least 3–5 years of proven hands-on experience working as an apprentice or in a similar plumbing role.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined or awkward spaces (like crawl spaces or attics), and stand for extended periods.
Driver’s License: A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required to operate company work vehicles.
