📣Our team at the National Coast Guard Museum (NCGM) site celebrated another major milestone this week as the refurbished Coast Guard helicopter was successfully lifted and placed inside the NCGM building. As construction of the walls progresses, the helicopter will be carefully moved to the opposite end of the facility and ultimately suspended from the ceiling as a centerpiece of the atrium.
To commemorate the occasion, Coast Guard members, including Commandant Admiral Kevin Lunday, members of the National Coast Guard Museum Association (NCGMA), architect Stephanie Balsam from Payette, and subcontractors gathered to watch a simulated Coast Guard rescue, followed by a tour of the facility site.
A special shout-out to John Metcalf (USCG Ret.), Owner’s Representative and Lead Project Manager, whose leadership and expertise were instrumental in successfully managing the helicopter hoisting, as well as Captain Wes Pulver (USCG Ret.), President of the NCGMA, whose passion and dedication have been driving forces behind this historic project from the very beginning.
An exciting and memorable day for everyone involved in this monumental project! 🚁
